Description
The Old Baron’s Sunbow / Thorny Cranequin, Weapon Skin for the Heavy Crossbow
TRIS: 4979

---New Version Changes---
Removed messy decorative parchment coating from the bow makes the crossbow read a lot better and shape now looks very clean from a distance. Slightly darker wood for the bow and stock then previous version. This version of the crossbow is more suited for an archer foot soldier whom be looking to make some vanguards wiggle in fear. It is much more appropriate look for a medieval battle-field then the previous design. The stirrup being the most prominent feature of the bow has granted it a new nickname “Thorny Cranequin”.

---Old Version Description---
An old crossbow previously owned by an old baron and to whom many a knight and peasant alike have fallen under the thud of its bolts. Custom made crossbows like these are the weapon of choice for many nobles and aristocrats because of the ease of use. Along with the ability to fire with accuracy without hours of training and the power to pierce plate armour, crossbows like these level the playing field and are an excellent choice for anyone too feeble to brandish a sword or bow. The wooden elements for this crossbow are carved from yew. The bow piece itself consists of a thick wooden limb wrapped in a thin decorative parchment that has been set to the wood with glue. The bow is tightly bound to the nose of the stock via a plated rope. The track in which the bolt rests is high quality polished steel nailed to the wooden stock. This crossbow uses a crannequin mechanism to draw the powerful weapon that would otherwise be impossible to draw by hand. The mechanisms casing is engraved with the old baron’s emblem a smiling sun. This along with the spiked stirrup that to a degree resembles a sun, led to this crossbows nickname “The Old Baron’s Sunbow”.
