[BNW][G&K] Vinesauce Joel Civilization (Now With More Softonic)

Last worked on this like 7 years ago lol if anyone wants to complete it or improve it please do by all means.

A mod that took me 2 weeks to complete through non-stop coding, mesh working, texture editing, and bug testing. And by coding I mean looking at someone elses mods and pasting their code into ModBuddy and editing it slightly.

Of course this mod is a sort of tribute to Joel of the Vinesauce crew. I didn't see any Vinesauce related mods on here, so I thought I'd make one of my own, and personalize it to reflect the things we know and love about Joel.... while sprinkling in cancerous memes from his various streams along the way.

Do realise this mod is pretty OP with the multitude of units and buildings as well as the building yields.

Quite a lot is changed with this mod, so I'll try to list it all in a pretty way below:


There have been 5 new units implemented into this mod.

Babby Jorbel - A Warrior replacer, it is given a higher strength rating, allowed 4 tile moves per turn, and is a little stronger than the normal warrior defense-wise. Although it isn't really visible, the unit has a custom face texture resembling our beloved Joel at the age of 6. In the future I may edit the unit to look like it's in a cop uniform, but for now I'm pretty burnt out from what I have implemented.

Bonzi - A Nuclear Missile replacer, given a higher rate of damage but that's about it. Has some custom textures on its sides that you may not see, but it basically has images of Bonzi on there with a Skeletor icon of sorts.

Chang - A Missionary replacer, purely cosmetic

Grand Dad - Great Prophet replacer, once again purely cosmetic

Hulkster - The cream of the crop, the Hulkster unit is a Marine replacer. Deals massive damage in the name of MERICA. Has a custom mesh and texture. DO NOTE: THE HULKSTER UNIT REQUIRES THE POLYNESIA DLC AS IT USES MAORI WARRIOR ASSETS!!


There are 4 unique buildings, with one of them as a wonder. They are as follows...

Grayskull - A replacer of the Granary, gives a lot of buffs which will give the Civ a pretty OP start while retaining it's original yields.

Mordhaus - The unique World Wonder that is added through this mod, it currently doesn't have a model, but does have some pretty high yields. Available after researching the Philosophy tech. Includes a custom Wonder splash screen as well as audio.

Mosh Pit - Stadium replacer, it's yields are a tad higher, but that's about it.

VirtualBox - Replacer for the Military Base, it gives some high defense, but that's all there is to it.


Joel, of course being from Sweden, needed a culture related and pretty metal trait...

Viking Rage - Combines Oda Nobunaga and Ethiopia's traits, giving units a bonus against larger civ's as well as allowing units to fight at full strength when damaged. Also Joel's great need for nukes has given a 4x boost to the amount of Uranium you recieve from that resource.


Of course this civ is gonna have custom icons, a custom map image at the setup screen, and a custom leader portrait as well as Diplomacy scene.


This mod adds a few tracks from various metal artists and Joel to play as this civ's soundtrack, so if you don't particularly enjoy metal I would turn your music off. The Dawn of Man intro also has custom audio, and Bonzi, and Hulkster have custom unit sounds.


This mod took a great deal of time to work with, and I'd appreciate feedback! If you have any problems please let me know, and possibly ideas on where else to go with this mod (I'm not going to change every unit and building though, just change up the things I've already edited).
