And to the people saying "what about [city with gun laws but high gun violence]?" The thing is, those cities are surrounded by other cities/states without those laws, so people can just get guns and bring them back. To those who say "we'd just get them from Mexico/Canada/CA," the VAST majority of guns in those places come FROM the US, hence gun control in America would lower access in adjacent countries, thus lessening gun violence across the hemisphere. Regarding stabbings and other violent crimes, you CANNOT use a knife to kill dozens of people in mere seconds. Cases of knife/gun crime does not represent the number of victims to knife/gun violence.
Gun control has been proven to lower violent crime, ESPECIALLY banning automatic weapons. You don't need an AK to defend against a robber.

And before anyone calls me a lib, I'm a socialist. Both libertarians and US liberals are still capitalists, who benefit from gun sales and the establishment, just like republicans.

@Cyraeon Ukraine doesn't have a 2nd amendment, they're enlisting people into their national guard (against their will) and being heftily funded by the US, which has the highest military spending in the world. It's not just amazon drones and individuals, it's literally a well-funded national military... idk how you think civilians with guns could stop literal bomb drops or an onslaught of tanks. Besides, that's not even what this is about -- fewer guns/stricter gun control laws DEMONSTRABLY and CONSISTENTLY result in lower gun violence. Shocker, when you have less of something, use of it goes down. It's simple logic and statistics. If facts hurt your feelings, you're quite the hypocrite.

get rid of the violent crime rate tho, gun control has nothing to do with that good or bad. voilent crime is largely driven by culture and economic dualities

Good. CDC statistics have shown that defensive gun use is more common than crime use by orders of magnitude. Having lawful citizens armed only deters criminals, because they can defend themselves.
