ASG (A.I. Refit) Brawler

Description
After the the First contact incident a debris field littered with the remnants of ASG and AI ships was left behind in the space around what was once a research station. Even debris to AI, being a completely space born society has value. In the following month AI salvage ships swarmed the area and began picking through the derelicts hulls and ruined station for any materials of value. One Salvage Tech in the AI fleet, Alan McKinney happened upon several of the ASG Brawlers that had given AIs prototype the time it needed to destroy the alien aggressor, and saw both promise in the design, and an opportunity to increase his own status and wealth within the society. Utilizing salvage from 8 different Brawler wrecks along with salvaged station materials and his training on the designs of AI fighters, McKinney rebuilt three Brawlers, changing their hull configuration, engines, power system and firing mechanisms and presented the new Brawler to the ASG/AI council at the Summit. The ship was given a tentative release for field testing, but received little acceptance at first. AI pilots didn't want to go near them because it required tactics alien to the ones they were trained on, and ASG pilots didn't like the idea of an outside designer "desecrating" their beloved Brawlers. It was until the Free Star incident that the Brawler refit was able to prove itself. As the only available fighter to respond to an assault on the Free Star, the refit Brawlers were able to swiftly put down the aggressors and escape the battle without receiving any serious damage. Since the refit Brawler has worked its way into many squadrons within the ASG and has even found a home in a few select AI squadrons, solidifying its place as a space superiority fighter.
