Charged Plating

Description
After the near destruction of the entire suppression force an elite group of Order scientists were tasked with designing new armor plating that was both lighter and more resistant to enemy ordinance. While testing many new composite materials one stood out above the others when it was hit with a simple laser and dissipated a portion of the beam as opposed to absorbing it. They quickly learned that by applying a marginal amount of current to a ship's hull plated with this new material the effects could be sustained on a larger scale. Though highly classified and prohibitively expensive the plans for the prototype were eventually leaked and put into production by some aspiring young Neutral traders who were soon after assassinated. Conspiracy theorists claim this was orchestrated by Order radicals to cut through military red tape once they had a marketable product.

Dear Ichy42, HI ^^

1st of all great mod add to the game.

But could you add some smalle edition of the platings please.

For Engineering LvL 1-4 that scale up (for example 10 - 20 - 50 - 75 armor) and check for some balance so the tank ships are not so overpowered.

It would be nice if the newbee miner also get some protection on there freigther, dont you think.

Thank you
:steamhappy:
kind regards

@AtomicTorch Studio Yeah, I was wondering about that, didn't get the impression it was doing anything. Not to mention the constant "Shields are down" commentary. I fooled around with putting one shield unit on it with a gargantuan amount of restore but the warnings would pop every time I got hit. Don't really want to give it infinite shielding, either, the goal behind the mod was actually to get rid of the shield's bubble as much as it was to add more viable armor for big fights in the hardest zones. Works great the way it is, mind you, might just remove the effect altogether and be done with it ;)

Just a note - "deflection rate" effect doesn't work without actual shield.
