Lorentum (Vanilla "Realistic" WIP Build)

Description
Come see LORENTUM, city of WEALTH, PROSPERITY, and TERMINATING VISTAS!
Originally created/posted March 2015 with vanilla Cities: Skylines as well as some custom assets using the default "Sandy Strands" map

This city save is certainly not "finished" by any means. The central areas are more or less complete, but the city kind of abruptly ends at its edges. I still plan on building it out more and making it feel more organic. I also plan on optimizing traffic/transit more and building some outlying small towns, so stay tuned as I update!

As @4DEATH pointed out below, I originally submitted this save to the Steam workshop after I got overwhelmingly positive feedback on the reddit post I made back in March 2015. If you're interested in reading my silly commentary without having to go to reddit, you can instead view the standalone imgur album here.[imgur.com]

COMPATIBILITY
To get this map's save file to work correctly, you may need to subscribe to the mods/assets listed in the sidebar. I don't think any are absolutely necessary, but the few custom assets I included will be missing otherwise. This is a vanilla save, though, so no expansions are required.

Also, as helpful user @Nightmare Eyes mentioned in the comments, you may want to disable various popular and game-changing mods and/or activate the base game's infinite power/water mods to ensure that this save runs smoothy. Although I originally created the city without any "cheats" or game-changing mods enabled and it worked just fine on my end (circa ~2015, at least), that may not be the case anymore for everyone.

UPDATE 12/26/2018
It's been a while since I last worked on this, and I understand that it may not be really particularly "realistic" anymore, especially in terms of what other exceptional City-Skyliners have done with their own cities more recently; this game has definitely evolved a lot since its original release in 2015, with several new expansions & game features, as well as the myriad custom assets that other creative users have added to the game within the past three and a half years. Still, seeing as how I have continued to recieve positive feedback on this save, it may still be worth a look!

I'm going to resume work on this perpetual work-in-progress soon, with the new assets/expansion features included, so stay tuned. I'll make sure to keep this (mostly) vanilla save on this particular page for both posterity & ease of accessibility, so I'll direct those interested to a new workshop item after I've made some progress. Thanks for all the helpful reception, I hope y'all enjoy!

Actually, I did get a notification! Haha.

Haha @Nightmare Eyes , actually, no, Steam hasn't made it possible officially, I just used some "clever" formatting to make it look like they did. And by clever I mean I just linked your usename to your profile, so there's that.

Unless you actually got a notification or something? Seeing as you're here for some reason, after so many years... Just like me. :steamhappy:

Thanks for the suggestion about disabling newer mods, too. I suppose that kinda went unsaid since this save was made before most of them were ever released, but your point is taken nonetheless. I'll go ahead and mention it.

@Maledin I actually made that comment some years ago, it's kinda nostalgic to read. In my expirience, those mods have also had some compatibility issues with very popular mods on the workshop as of late. I uninstalled them but if you don't play with many mods, they'll usually work just fine. You may want to clarify this as well.

Also, they finally made it possible to mention people? Wow, haha. I remember playing around with this map when I first purchased the game. Kinda forgot about it after a while.

@Rysouke, apologies for the extremely late reply, but the map I used for this is the default vanilla "Shady Strands." You probably won't necessarily see this reply, but I figured I'd answer if anyone else was curious. I updated the description as well to include this info.

@Lemmino: I'm not sure I understand your question, but it may again be too late anyways. If you see this, are you still having trouble with whatever it was, and if so, can you clarify? As a heads up: it seems like your imgur link is (quite understandably) dead.

Finally, @Nightmare Eyes, thanks for the suggestion to enable the infinite power/water mods. While I didn't seem to have any problems running the city without them, I can see how that may not be the case for others; as such, I updated the description with your suggestion.

@Aturchomicz I'm deleting your comment due to your inappropriate & overly-antagonistic language (for whatever reason? :steamfacepalm:), but your point is taken all the same. Yes, I know by today's standards this isn't particularly "realistic," except for perhaps the general street layout.

Based on my (somewhat outdated) title, it is a work-in-progress, albeit one I haven't updated in a long time. I guess it was more impressive/realistic when I first started working on it back when the game was first released; I used (mostly) vanilla assets since they were the only things available at the time.

Regardless, I'm glad many others have enjoyed this save & appreciate all feedback (except when you resort to petty insults). I'd definitely like to start working on it again soon! :steamhappy:

Also if you want to download this, you might want to have the no need for electricity mod and the no need for water/draining pipes mod! You don't have to, but it would help. . .

Woah. . . this is awesome!
