I live in a nursing home and have very little money so I can't help everyone making these assets. I feel guilty but building cities helps me mentally survive. To me making a city and putting in all the little details is like drawing a picture. Thanks to you and everyone that makes the mods and assets. I am watching so videos to see if I can learn. I am young for being in a nursing home so I have many many years to learn.

Thats pretty much my process, yes.

Well I see were you are coming from and I will keep that in mind. Though these big windowless sidewalls are most common on commercial buildings anyway, and my focus are residential and office buildings. So chances are pretty high, that I wont do a building with such a big sidewall for quiet some time.

Ok, have to go now, was a nice chat, have a good one :)

Do you mind if I ask what your modeling process is? How do you get your textures? Take pictures your self and correct for perspective? Then slap the texture on a cube and start extruded and insetting based on the correctly scaled and aligned texture?

And yeah, that really is a stark detail-less wall on the prototype! I guess my thought is that in real life blank walls like that usually only exist when a building is right up against the lot-line of a neighbouring building. But in skylines unless you are building perfect grids there's often those little ugly slivers and gaps. By including windows that don't exist in the prototype it just makes the building more flexible in-game, so it won't look as bad if it doesn't grow in the exact same situation as the prototype, while if it does then you won't see the windows anyways.

Thank you, well I allways try to stick with the source material, if there are windows, there will be windows in the model. After all, NY is full of boring sidewalls ;). It might look boring on a individual building, but I believe on a bigger picture, these boring sidewalls are beneficial.

Future side walls will probably feature grafitty though, to add some color. Allready experimented with a couple unreleased euro buildings.

Btw, the source sidewalls are even more boring than the ones on my model, if you ask me :D :

Very nice but the side wall texture feels like it could use some attention. In real life they're generally totally hidden but in skylines they are sadly often visible due to the zoning system. Either a little more interest/detail in the texture or even some inset windows on the sides. Even if the real version doesn't have side windows who knows the situation it grows in CS. If it grows totally wall to wall you don't see the windows and don't know they are there, if it grows with a gap and you can see, then you can enjoy the windows breaking up the flat boring side-wall. Just a suggestion!

Just wanted to give you props for a really good collection of Americana. I'm subscribing these in hopes I can get enough to create a city with more character. Great work and I hope you keep producing more.
