Midgard - New Horizons (Still a Work in Progress) from Boz Corp.

The Midgard class capitol ship continues to live up to its Norse mythology name as the protected home for mankind in deep space. This latest version uses the new armor slope blocks and has been trimmed down in every dimension to try and bring decrease the size of the ship while attempting to remain true to the original design. Midgard is a fully capable forward operating base equipped with ample cargo capacity and power systems which utilize large reactors and battery banks. Gravity generators located near the nose of the ship are used for the gravity assisted runway launch system and Mass Driver. Sensors throughout the ship provide automatic lighting to save energy and FPS.

Air Locks or consecutive doors leading out of the ship are marked with red exit lights and most will have a button panel nearby to open and close the double doors. On each side of the ship there are four somewhat hidden access points. One access point is near the nose section of the ship on top of the painted canard in front of the forward thrusters. There are two access points hidden in front of the ship’s rear wings near the forward firing thrusters. Lastly there is an access point next to the rear wing landing pad which leads into the side of the dorsal fin.

The Midgard is a carrier class mobile base with ample landing bay floor space for parking or working on craft. Two pressurized hangars connected to laboratories are located near the rear of the ship to provide an oxygenated environment for engineers to work on their small ships. Additional vertical landing pads can clamp onto ships and connectors can resupply vessels. The docking clamps will release when they sense a pilot near the landing pads and will reengage 25 seconds after the pilot leaves that zone. Small craft I have designed and built have a Start Up/Shut Down procedure hot keyed to #9. This Start Up/Shut Down procedure activates the crafts thrusters, turns on the antenna and batteries, then disengages the connector and powers it off for a few seconds for easy disembarking. You can find these small ships in my shared files. The landing pads and all other landing bay operations can be controlled in one of the many operation rooms above the landing bay. At the very bottom of the landing bay is the parking bay with docking clamps and connectors to park wheeled vehicles. Above the parking bay and centrally located in the landing bay is the repair/decommission pad. This pad has a mixture of welders and grinders which can be used to dip print or grind ships.

The large Missile turrets on either side of the ship can be controlled by a gunner seat located in each turret or through remote control and cameras. The turret hatches line up with doors near the runway launch tunnel when the turrets are facing forward. The turrets are connected to the conveyor system but also have backup storage containers in case conveyor lines are severed.

Love the look of this ship and the big side missile turrets.

However the piping between everything is just broken.
- The welding and grinding pit and rover connectors are not piped to the rest of the ship, the pipes run off into the armor like it is but go nowhere.
- Isy's inventory management script will not function on the ship and it to complex and spits out all kinds of errors
- TIM script also will not function correctly as there is multiple point in the pipe network are required refineries or assemblers to be on. When the script turns them off massive sections of the inventory system can't be accessed.
- The bottom half of the connectors on both side of the hanger are not connected to the reset of the ships pipe network

The ship in its current state is not survival mode friendly if you planning to use a inventory management script. After a week building this ship in survival i'm now grinding it down and starting again with something else.

Is this heavy armor version going to get a working self refueling hyrdogen thruster system? Cause I know of a few hydrogen related mods that I would love to have work with this ship, but you might not have the space for it unless I told you that I'd prefer a no-oxygen version, but still have some blast/hangar doors on it.
