UPCo X1 Solar Charger Buoy
The necessity to limit the consumption of Uranium in deep space on ships without solar panels, brought the UPCo to devise the Buoy. The buoy is controlled remotely and is fully capable of moving in space as if it were a small ship. It is equipped with four solar panels connected to four batteries. When no ship is attached, the solar energy is stored in the Buoy’s batteries. When a ship needs to recharge, or when out of duty, it can attach to the Buoy’s connector and begin the energy transfer. The buoy has a small emergency uranium generator to allow maneuvering in low or no solar light conditions.
