Description
Mod/Scenario - None (Vanilla).
Starter/Early-Game CV; UL 10; CPU T2; Warp Drive; Upgradable.


The eighteenth vehicle in my Wimpomania line of vehicles is the Discoverer class Personal Explorer, an upgradable, single-person exploration CV with a 280k SU Cargo Container and a large Constructor, plus a Flat-Top Landing Pad and living quarters. It is, however, very lightly armed, coming stock with only 2 Sentry Turrets.
The Discoverer class is also the first of five full-modular-construction "Segment Ships" in the Wimpomania Line, being the smallest with only 2 "Segments". The parts and segments that make up the Discoverer class, from back to front, are: an Engineering Segment with a Flat-Top Pad and rear access to it; a Foyairlock "Connector" with doors and ramps out, a small Gravity Generator, Ammo containers, O² Tanks and EVA Equipment; a Survival Segment, with a production (constructors) area, a 104k & a 280k Cargo Containers, and a living area with a kitchenette, bed, shower & head (toilet); an "Equipment Ring" with a WiFi, an Extra Small Grav Gen, & the Detector; a "Thrusters Ring"; and a small, 1-person cockpit.






Door Operation:
Inner Doors - The doors to the cockpit, the "bedroom" and between the Foyairlock and Survival Segment, are automatic (by default). The Access Shutters, head door and door into the Engineering Segment are manual.
Outer Doors - All outer doors are automatic (by default).
"Window Shutters" - The top door covering with window in the "bedroom" is set to the signal from the door below it, so operating the bottom Window Shutter will open/close both.
Ramps - Both on-foot "Ground Access" ramps and the stern vehicle ramps are automatic (on Motion Sensors).

Upgrade/Adaptability Space
The Thruster Nacelles of the Discoverer class are mostly empty and can be accessed via the orange Shutters in the Engineering Segment (near the generators) if those spaces are needed, and some of the small Thrusters can be replaced with medium Thrusters. The 6 small Generators can be replaced with 4 large T1s. Also in Engineering: the "Power Storage" tanks can be replaced with medium Fuel Tanks; the red blocks can be replaced with CPU Extenders; and the consoles next to the red blocks can be replaced with a Field Repair Station and the Control Console for the Repair Device (a.k.a. Repair Bay), which itself can be placed within the aft section of the Flat-Top Pad by removing the red block marked 'R'. The red LCD Screen on the floor in the "Foyairlock" marks the spot for a Teleporter, with the power saving Motion Sensor already installed and ready above it. Finally, the Large Constructor in the Survival Segment can be upgraded to an Advanced and, if you can find space for any on the outer hull, feel free to strap on more turrets.



- NOTE - any Fridges on board come turned off by default (unless I forgot) to save power until food is inside needing to be kept cold, and can only be turned off manually (or by turning off all power to the vehicle) from the fridge's own UI to limit instances of food being accidentally spoiled.
