Bring Me Gunpowder

Description
Bring Me Gunpowder is a small mod that changes the decision to visit a Silk Road Bazaar, with a slightly larger system to send an envoy there in your place. This envoy will be drawn from appropriate historical characters (Marco Polo, Ibn Battuta, etc.), then from your courtiers, and generated characters when nobody is available. They will take up that mission, and if they return they're likely to have something for you, although not necessarily the innovation you sought. If they return, that is.

Features
To be clear: Bring Me Gunpowder is a very small mod to fix what I consider an annoyance. The vanilla Silk Road Market Visit system consists of a decision and a single event upon reaching the bazaar. I have replaced that with a whopping three events, to make an envoy travel that trip instead and handle their return.

This is not a way to become that envoy as an Adventurer, this is not even a fix for some of the other wonkiness with the system (like the fact that you can visit a bazaar in your own region, even the neighbouring county). I'll give vanilla up to 1.18.1 to see how they tackle those quirks. This is a mod to help me with my immersion, and I hope it'll help you too.

Compatibility
Compatible with mods that do not change:
  • common\decisions\dlc_decisions\tgp\tgp_silk_road_decisions.txt
  • common\scripted_triggers\tgp_silk_road_triggers.txt

Absolute necessity to make the Silk Road mechanic feel less unrealistic!
