Description
KS-90 "KUARA" SIEDGE TANK

Lore:

During the galactic war, backbone of the Renation tank fleet was made up of mostly KD series tanks that were easy and cheap to produce. While this made it so that the renation army could deploy garrisons of tanks on even on the more remote worlds, it also meant that the overall combat effectiveness on prolonged and massive siedges were significantly reduced. This was made even worse by the fact that the majority of the galactic war was fought on huge capital megacities and production facilities that would quickly turn the playing field to hell for any armored vehicle. For this reason the renation army ordered the production of a new series of tanks that would excell at taking constant fire and shooting out even more. And thus the KS (Siedge) series of tanks were drawn up by the GLI engineers and were quickly approved by Renation officers for production.

The KS Series of tanks were specifically built for long lasting siedges of capital cities and daring advancements into deep enemy territory. This meant that the tank had to have a lot more armor and firepower available to whitstand constant enemy harrasment. In order to fit most of the modern composite armor and large caliber weapons the tank had to be upsized quite a bit. On top of all the composite armor, next gen APS and passive protection systems were mounted all around the tank. The armament of the KS had to be able to penetrate even the most heavily armored enemy tanks. For this reason 10 90mm High Velocity Railguns were installed as the main armament on the KS-90 and gave it its full designition. As the tank was expected to face overwhelming enemy pressence from all angles, two 35mm
autocannons were mounted on the flanks of the tanks chassis and extra rocket turrets were mounted on the top of the turret. As an anti infantry and aircraft option an HMG was fitted on the gunners position. State of the art electronics were also installed on the tank that allowed it maintain up to date information on all its surroundings and get real time armor diagnostics for the commander to observe. To get the massive 350 ton steel beast, a nuclear powered reactor was used as the main powerpack of the vehicle and allowed it to reach speeds of over 80 km/h and gave the tank excellent manouverability. The added power from the reactor made it possible for the KS series of tanks to be fitted with 8 seperately powered track segments that would allow the vehicle to be mobile even if several of the tracks are inoperable. This made sure the vehicle wouldnt succumb to mobility kills while deep in enemy territory.

This particular KS-90 was named Kuara, meaning the summoner of thunder in ancient human believes. This KS-90 was made famous for its lone advance deep into enemy lines during the battle of Minoto Prime where this KS-90 was able to take down dozens of enemy armor and emplacements in an ambush and singlehandedly cleared the way for a renation advance into the capital city.
