(SOPS) Self-Contained Optimal Panel Script

​SOPS or Self-Contained Optimal Panel Script is a new take on solar panel managing that doesn't require a daylight sensor. This works on all planets and will attempt to find the most optimal solution for your entire solar array.

SOPS works but measuring the change in efficiency in your solar panels. By doing small adjustments of the position and measuring the change it will inch toward the most optimal positioning for your solar panels. Once at the optimal position it will track the sun as it goes through the sky, making adjustments as needed. At night they will go into scanning mode waiting for the sun to appear in the morning.

One of the benefits of SOPS is that if you have a solar array setup that gets partially blocked during the day, either due to buildings or terrain, it will try to find the best angle for the solar panels even if that isn't directly facing the sun.


SOPS setup is incredibly straightforward due to the lack of requirement of a daylight sensor. Please read the steps below carefully and you will have SOPS running in no time!

• Build your solar panels all in the same orientation
  
• Connect all the network ports to the IC10 Board
  
• Install SOPS code to the IC10
  
• Profit!

Important to note that SOPS works by finding the most optimal point for a certain efficiency. Certain regions, especially for poorly space solar panels, can't reach the target efficiency. For those cases either low the value or consider a better setup / location.


Common issues you might run into when using SOPS.

Q: Why is it constantly moving?
A: SOPS works by finding the most optimal point of your solar array. If you have to high a efficiency for your area or a inefficient solar array setup it will keep moving to try to find the optimal point.

Q: Why are the solar panels out of sync?
A: SOPS works by incrementing the position of the solar panels. If you didn't have your solar panels lined up or they are in different orientations then they will become unaligned and SOPS will drastically drop in efficiency.

Q: Does this work for X location?
A: SOPS works for all possible locations in Stationeers
