Description
Mod: Overhaul and rework of devices that produce, store and deliver electricity.

Besides being a general buff to power buildings, this mod has several new and exciting features that will electrify your experience... heh.

Features
  • General increase in stats for power producers and storage.
  • Reworked some of the item and tech descriptions.
  • Distinct icon and model artwork.

  • Extended range and longer wires for power connections to and from power poles.
  • New building, the Carbon power pole. It is built from Carbon nanotubes and has more durability.

  • Solar panels now have their own sub category in the Power menu, Solar power.
  • Wind turbines now have their own sub category in the Power menu, Wind power.
  • Generators now have their own sub category in the Power menu, Generator.
  • Generators provide twice as much power, but consume their fuel in half the time.
  • Diesel generators now require smaller chunks of liquid fuel to make it easier to resupply.

  • Batteries now have their own sub category in the Power menu, Battery.
  • Vanilla Battery now renamed as Metal battery.
  • New building, the Carbon battery. It has lesser stats than the normal battery but far more reliable.

  • Lightning rods now have their own sub category in the Power menu, Lightning.
  • New building, the Lightning trap. It is built from Metal alloys and has more durability and range.

  • Improved solar panels, Graphene solar panels and Carbon wind turbines are now regular techs!
  • Their former breakthrough research are now optimization techs that provide bonus power.

Note: This mod requires SAD_CommonLib to implement some features.

That makes sense.

I asked injto4ka about it in Discord about potentially fixing it in the CLib, but it would be quite a steep mountain to climb. The upgrade and power systems under the hood are both pretty complicated.

Don't worry mate, it's not just you. In fact, I've noticed this problem as far back as Jaggid's Improved Power , which also had a Carbon power pole. It had the same issue where if you upgrade the pole its connections disappear.

In fact, I've noticed that the upgrade function doesn't work well with buildings that use the composite system, like the Graphene solar panel and the Wind turbine. Either it breaks their animations or their component parts get left behind in really conspicuous and weird places. So no, I didn't include any upgrade labels for most items on this mod; only the Batteries and Lightning rods can upgrade in their categories.

Another great mod! Really loving your contributions.

Question on the Carbon power pole. Did you add a Change Property to the upgrade label to allow wood and metal poles to be upgraded to it?

Reason being, NET has a Carbon power pole as well, and includes that upgrade label change to the wood & metal poles so it may conflict depending on the load order if both are used.

Also, when upgrading from wood and metal to carbon, I noticed the power line connection disappears, requiring an additional pole to be added in between, or needing to deconstruct and rebuild one of of the two. I've been thinking about removing the property changes as a result. Did you notice the same behavior with yours? I'm thinking it's less a problem with our mods and more a game quirk, but curious.
