Farming resonances, small scale farming

Before, however, you pull off any trick, basic or otherwise, you need to amass the resonances necessary to awaken skills before unlocking them.

The easiest and most obvious way to do it is, hunt humans as developers intended and awaken their resonance through conversation.
This is a perfectly viable method, even thou you need to hunt over 60 humans for all unlocks. Just remember, you don't have to hunt them all in one go during the first night. Remember also that finishing the side quest for Niko and Mrs Thorn will award you 500 resonance every third quest or so.

Best hunting path I found starts from Dutchman, goes south, and then right to atrium, forming an L

Angry NPC are called choleric in game lingo and will flesh red. Homeless, bikers, and business ppl are all easily triggered while wearing rich man cloths (suits, typically the third and fourth outfit of each clan)

Romantic NPCa are fleshing pink and are called Sanguin. Bikers will respond to poor people's clothes (usually the first one of each clan). All other types of NPC, including sex workers, are easier to awaken in fancy clothes.

Fearful NPC are flashing Purple and are called melancholic in-game. You should play the class card as hard as you can for guaranteed success. Wear cheap clothes near the upper crest, and expensive suits while talking to the rabble.

It will take some time, but some of the fanniest quips of this game are hidden in this system and are well worth some time to hear them all.
Industrial Farming
However, not everybody has the time or patience for that, thank Cain we can chees the whole system hard.

Key here are skills Becon from Toreador, Tount from Brujah, and Glimps of Oblivion from Losombra.

Those 3 skills have the side effect of seeding npc with resonances, and they all cost a meager 6 skill points, not including possible clan discount.

Given that melancholic mobs are incredibly annoying to drink from, due to their erratic running patterns, I strongly recommend for evyrones' first cross clan ability to be Glimpse of Oblivion. Unfortunately, it's not the most impressive combat skill in the game. Unlike Becon, which happens to be the most powerful third row ability in my opinion, and therefore a great investment even without farm consideration

And now to the method

Step 1: Locate a stationary np in the alleyways between buildings, most likely a homeless person walking or checking out trash bins. Your future victim doesn't have to be resonant at all.

Step 2: Locate somewhere else any other npc, and lure it closeish to the npc from step one

Method is irrelevant. Either find an angry or sanguine npc and awaken them by conversation, or use tount or becon and get them close.

Step 3: Drain the resonant npc,

Step 4: Use any of the 3 skills mentioned above to awaken resonance in the other one and drink them as well

Step 5: Whenever one npc destuns themself after draining a use skill again on him and drains him again.

Rince repeat till you have enough resonance.

With all 3 skills, it should take less than 10 minutes to unlock all resonances you will ever need. If you feel courageous or lucky, you can lure a third npc to speed up the process, but I found that occasionally my timing would be off, and one of the destuned mobs can call the police on you.

Remember this method when you need to refill your skills before missions. Drinking a resonant npc will always restore all your skill pips.
Skill points and the most optimal Clans for achievement hunting
in both of my playthroughs, in which I did every side quest possible, where I didn't seek combat on the roofs but didn't run from it either, I amassed about 60ish points. enough to have all passives, all discounted skills, and then 2 or 3 more. While this is plenty, it's probably not enough to do all of the skillshot achievements in one playthrough, even with the method I will, in short order, describe. At least not while having fun, and so I recommend 2 playthroughs ( if you are a completionist, you will have to finish the game 6 times eventually anyway for clans and endings :P)

My choice for the optimal route was Losombra and Banu Haqim.

Losombra is a very good choice not only because their first two skills are considered for most powerful in the game, but also because no other clan has a discount on their Oblivion skills. Losombra has the entirety of the clan venture discount as well, so the couple of points left you can use whenever you like, just remember to pick up tount on them, it will be very useful with some of the achievements.

Banu Haqim, on the other hand, outside of their own skills, have the entirety of Tremere discounted, and most brujah and toreador to boot, meaning those 2 clans are the most skill-efficient out of the bunch, covering effectively the entire skill board.
The method

While in any other rpg would simply allow to savescum skill picks, VTMB is tricky, and saves each time you pick up a skill. However, whenever you enter a different map than the open city rules change, and the only way to overwrite a checkpoint is to reach another one. The method I propose is simple: we go to a certain dungeon in game, heaving as many free skill points as vampirically possible, and then try to farm as many achievements as you possibly can, and then restart and either repeat if you failed or farm another till you're done or bored. :D I will call this method arena for short from now on.
The place

The easiest place I found to farm achievements is available to us on the night when we need to hunt down Willem. It's night either 3 or 4. By this time, you should have a full build and about 15 or more skill points to spare, which should be quite good to do most of them.

Willem night is particularly great for farming because

1. Entry to his base is guarded by close to 20 mobs, which can be clumped up. BEWARE, those are outside of the dungeon, meaning DO NOT learn any skills you don't want to have permanently for the rest of your playthrough
2. The first combat sequence inside contains about 10 mobs, 2 of which are specials. You can try your best during that sequence. Remember to restart the checkpoint after you are done to unlearn all unwanted skills.
3. The second stage is where the magic is happening. This room will contain close to 12 mobs, none of which have any wpn. Mannequins that Willem will summon here also have a greatly diminished health pool compared to normal mobs. This is the best place to farm I have found by far.

During the final sequence of the game, there are also 3 arenas full of mobs, and empty spaces that are perfectly fine to use this method, so you can try all other skill points you have amassed by then.
No ability required
Elders Speed
Counter 30 enemy attack by dashing toward them.
First, find a single mob somewhere in the arena or on the roof (or make one lonely by killing all his friends... you monster!)

You counter by dodging into the attacking mob. This can be somewhat finicky, but it's actually a useful skill that will help you dread moonflowers a little less later in the game ( it will make sense, trust me). It is possible you will come up with this Achievement completely naturally, but it's good to grind it up early to build yourself muscle memory. And to help out with another achievement on the list, which is

Elders Strenght
Break 20 enemy blocks with heavy attacks.

This will most definitely not come naturally. In both my games, I may have broken blocks 3 times, combined naturally. Mobs do block somewhat randomly, and if you are not ready to break it immediately, they will drop guard and attack before you can actually break it. However, after about 3 counters on the melee mob, they will assume a blocking position naturally. Speeding up the process considerably and making it predictable. If you break mobs too hard, just find another group and leave single melee on again for easy grind.

Kiss and Kill
Pull enemies to you with telekinesis and feed on them 30 times

This one is hard to pull off on roofs if you are not careful with engagements, but it may come naturally, surprisingly quickly if you like a little stealth starter in plot arenas and dungeons. Just make a habit of pulling mobs toward you and not walking to them all the distance like in other games, and you will have it in no time.

Remember that mob needs to be unaware of you when pulled for feeding to be available, and you need to feed on them, not eliminate

From the Shadows
eliminate 7 enemies in a row without getting detected

Remember, all you need to do is not be detected; you don't have to eliminate them in any specific way.
Also, mind you don't have to be detected, but mobs CAN be alerted
An obvious skill that helps you is an unseen passage and split second from Banu Haquim, shadow port from losombra, and any damaging skill from Tremer, telekinesis with explosive and guns works as well as long as you are not detected.

Lasombra

The Serenity of Shadows
draw 5 unarmed enemies into oblivion

This one can be easily combined with the next one, requiring you to defeat 3 mobs inside Oblivion
This achievement requires by far the most setup in the entire game unless you do it on the aforementioned Willem's second phase. Simply make some noise to aggro 5 mannequins closely to you, and pull them. They are all unarmed, so it should work.
If you have already finished that mission, you will have to do it the hard way. You need 2 blood potions ( the one restoring pips to your skills). Unlock mass manipulation from ventrue and tount from brujah (and maybe blod couldron from tremer)

  • draw 5 mobs into one place, either by aggro or blood couldron
  • Use mass manipulation from Ventrue.
  • Open menu for skill swaps
  • If u used blood couldron, swap it for tount
  • Replace mass manipulation with oblivion.
  • quickly drink potions so you are able to cast them both
  • Then cast Tount first for all mobs affected with manipulation to drop their wpns
  • and then into oblivion to disappear them

You will also complete the angry mob achievement if you do it this way.
During your attempts at this one, you can also try to do return to the sender.
Destroy the vampire with their own gun, simply after tount telekineticly pick it up and shoot em.

To end in Oblivion
Pull at least 3 enemies into oblivion and end their existence.

You can either kill them, or root them with hands of Ahriman and leave oblivion by pressing its button again, as long as they don't return with you, it works.
It's of course especially easy on Willem mannequins who have very little hp.

Now you see me
Use shadow step to get behind someone that you have commanded with beckon

easy one especially that it combines 2 of the best skills in the game,

Set 'em up, knock 'em down
Us charge to take down two or more enemies held in place by arms of Ahriman

It should be easy to root even more than 2 mobs that attack you, then just take aim and CHAAAARGE
If you attempt this during any arena, try to lure 5 mobs in line to make an attempt at “bowled over” achivment that requires you to knock down 5 enemies in a single brujah charge as well
Banu Haqim
Unseen Judgment
eliminate 7 enemies with a single use of unseen aura

This should come fairly naturally, just track mobs and press E to kill them, you can use telekinesis and guns as well to speed up the process.

Master of the bladed hand
during split second hit, 4 or more enemies with the bladed hand

It's probably not coming naturally, given it's more prudent to use those 2 skills separately.
The important bit is that you don't have to kill them, just hit them. Bladed hand has a limited range, so if you struggle, use blood couldron.
Willem mannequins are all melee, so it should be easy to do on them as well

Silent but violent
blow up and enemy that has a blood curse and mute activ on them

Best done in the arena to save up skill points, simply use both skills on one mob and then punch them.
Ventrue

Termination without notice
eliminate an enemy while possessing them

Simple possesses any mob and walk off the roof
The pain with this one is that this skill is a total waste of points if you are not ventrue. And most ghouls and vampires are resistant to the fall damage of 1-2 floors present in most of the arenas.
However, during the second part of the game. Inquisition will send mortals your way, who will die if possessed and dropped from 2 floors, so simply wait with your points for that if you are not ventrue

By royal decree
Combine mass manipulation and terminal decree to eliminate at least 6 enemies at once

The tricky bit is getting 6 mobs in one place. Help yourself with blood couldron, or be patient with kiting.
Also, take note that special mobs with longer health bars will only hurt themself, so it needs to be 6 little ones.
If you are Ventrue and have points to spare, you can also make an attempt on lasombra achivments, those are very hard to do alone, but easy when combined with your powers.

Angry mob
Use mass manipulation to tount 5 enemies at once

All you need to do is hit 5 mobs with mass manipulation, this time u don't even have to be picky, any enemy would do. If any of them had a gun, pick it up with telekinesis and shoot the previous owner for another achievement, return to sender
Tremere

Total recall
Eliminate an enemy by teleporting into them with recall

If you are Tremere, it will be extremely simple; if you are not, do it in the arena to save points. Most other movement skills are better.

I curse you all
Combine blood curse and blood salvo to eliminate at least 4 enemies at once

to make it simpler, use first Blood couldron on the mob that you will eventually blood Curse,

Hot lips
Use an entrancing kiss on someone under the influence of couldron of blood

silly combination, best done in arena to save points

Silent but violent
blow up and enemy that has blood curse and mute active on them

None of those skills are good to have on their own, outside of their clan, so do this one in the arena to save points.

Brujah

Return to sender
Destroy vampire with their own gun

Technically, it's not a specific achievement to tount, but easiest to do with it. Find an armed enemy, tount them, pick up a gun, and shoot them.

Angry mob
Use mass manipulation to tount 5 enemies at once

The only trick is to have 5 mobs clumped together, which should be easy enough
Use Arena to save 12 points on Mass Manipulation

Bowled over
knock down 5 enemies in a single brujah charge

In Willem warehouse, there is a wall on the left side from the entrance, that has a long catwalk on it. Aggro mobs and run on it make them naturally form the line.
Can be done on the ground with a little help of blood couldron, or patience while kiting, but Willem warehouse is optimal

Set 'em up, knock 'em down
Us charge to take down two or more enemies held in the place by arms of Ahriman

fairly simple, catching 2 mobs with Ahriman should be very easy, just do it in the arena so you can save some points

Chain Lightning
Eliminate 5 enemies with a single use of Lightning Strikes.

Good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck doing this naturally
Lighting strike does too little dmg, to kill outright normal mobs... thankfully are reading this guide, and therefore you know that Willem mannequins have very little hp and clump up easily
may god have mercy on your soul if you attempt to do this on normal mobs. Try to weaken them as much as possible, probably a split second will be your best friend here, for better control of mob's HP
Toreador

Love me!
Use an entrancing kiss on 5 thin blood vampires

If you are Torri, it will come to you naturally, very, very quickly
Thin blood vampires are the ones with longer health pools that you cannot execut immidietly “specials”.

It pains me to say, but the arena method won't work; the counter seems to reset with each restart. However don't fret, this is actually quite powerful skill and works wonders on the later part of the game, so when you will be ask to go to the botanical garden, learn it then and use it whenever u see special, by that time, there are 2-3 per encounter, so it should be a breeze

Hot lips
Use entrancing kiss on someone under the influence of couldron of blood

Silly combo that should be done in the arena to save points if you do not plan to use both skills

Run rabbit ruuuuuun
Use Blink to exterminate someone of melancholic blood resonance.

Blink happens to be the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movement skill in the game, if you are not a toreador who are forced to have it, pick it up at the very end of the game, and accept the loss of precious skill points, there are no drainable npc near any dungeon, so it has to be done on Oper World.
Hope my tips were in any way helpful to you
Good luck out there and don't let snow fall into your coffee

Incredibly helpful guide, I basically gave up on resonance because gaining it the intended way is stupidly slow.
