RE2 Wombat

Wombat is a medium range rapid response fighter that can pretty quickly knock out un-shielded base perimeter turrets, with light gatling guns for drone defense, shielded and built mostly out of hardened steel. Has not been tested against shielded bases yet. Has great speed and maneuverability. Itll also provide good defense when zirax start coming outside or if you can get to the enemy through windows. RE2 compatible. It isnt warp capable so will need a mothership to stage from and resupply on extended excursions.
