Poured Concrete

Description
Adds concrete mixes for building walls that must dry and cure over time for maximum strength!

Mod Contents

This mini-mod adds three concrete mixes that can be crafted at the Stonecutter's Table:

  • 20x Concrete Mix can be produced from any stone chunk.
  • 20x Reinforced Concrete Mix can be produced from any stone chunk plus 4 Steel.
  • 20x Plascrete Mix can be produced from any stone chunk plus 4 Plasteel.

Concrete mixes can be used to build walls or poured concrete floors:

  • As a wall material, concrete starts very weak and increases in strength over time. It takes approximately 1 day to dry, and 1 quadrum (15 days) more to cure.
  • As a floor material, poured concrete is effectively equivalent to paved tile, with 0 beauty, slightly improved cleaning speed, and medium construction time.

But...

Yes, there are a lot of concrete mods out there, but I've found that most of them are more powerful than I'd prefer, are tedious or require new workbenches to produce, or use non-standard Wall buildings which can cause compatibility issues. I wanted to make my own take on concrete construction and hope that others find it useful as well!

Compatibility

Concrete is configured to only work for Walls and buildings that inherit from Walls (which should include most modded embrasures). The drying system should, however, work for any spawnable Thing so if you really want to use it for doors and furniture, patching the "PC_Concrete" stuffCategory onto those ThingDefs should allow them to work out of the box!

Sounds good, I'll let you know!

@Estredar @Moxie - I just uploaded v1.1.0 which should allow barricades to be built out of concrete. Please let me know if you run into any issues!

I came back just to suggest the barricade change and saw that I'm not alone! Well, I'll just +1 on that and say it makes a lot of sense and would be grandly appreciated!

@Aelanna, Thank you!

@Estredar - I was focused on walls, but I suppose it makes sense for barricades to be buildable out of concrete as well. I'll consider it for the next update!

Hi Aelanna, is it as designed that concrete cannot be used to make barricades as they are stuffable with the same things as walls?

@кüй - Thank you for the suggestion, but my goal was to not introduce new workbenches or a lot of intermediate production chain elements, so I am not personally interested in integrating with said mod. All of the code that powers Poured Concrete is extensible in XML though, so anyone is free to create a compatibility mod if they so desire!

I think you should try combining the Industrial Concrete mode. It would be better with the Concrete Making Machine there, more realistic, and I think it would be a nice detail.

@Steezy Wonder - I pushed up v1.0.3 with an additional safety check, but I am unable to reproduce your error. If this update doesn't fix your issue then I'm going to need your help to narrow down whether this is a mod incompatibility causing it.
