System HR 8799

Description
The HR 8799 system is a young planetary system featuring a star and four massive gas giants. It is famous for being the first system where planets were directly imaged in infrared light. The planets are significantly more massive than Jupiter and have wide orbits. Studying them provides valuable information on the formation of giant planets. Recent observations by the James Webb Space Telescope have also allowed for analysis of the chemical composition of these planets' atmospheres, detecting carbon dioxide in one of them.
