Expanded Brickwork

In 1 collection by QOMRADEQUEER
Expanded Production Chains
3 items
Description
Expanded Brickwork introduces a simple production chain for mudbrick and brick, both of which are early building materials. Gather clay and sand at the new gathering spot and/or claypit, then form the raw materials into wet mudbrick and/or brick at a crafting spot. Mudbrck must then be left to air-dry for a full day at a drying spot or on a drying frame, whilst bricks must be fired in a kiln before they are suitable for construction. But be careful, as mudbrick drying and certain kilns are susceptible to environmental effects!

FEATURES

Supports RimWorld + Any DLC Combination!

Introduces a mudbrick production chain:
+ Collect clay and sand at a claypit
+ Make wet mudbrick at a crafting spot
+ Leave the mudbrick to dry at a drying spot or drying frame

Introduces a brick production chain:
+ Collect clay at a claypit
+ Make unfired bricks at a crafting spot
+ Fire the unfired bricks in kilns and/or stoves

With Epochs - Pottery:

My apologies for the rapid updates today. Realised I could easily fix another small issue.

@Saph Everything is already documented in the changelog.

I will add a recipe back to the stonecutter's table for those not using Epochs and/or Outland. That slipped my mind, sorry about that.

Please also add a recipe back to stone cutting table. Crafting spot is 50% speed and clay brick making process is already taking a crap load of time.

The mod updated for me today and I can't find where to craft unfired bricks anymore. It also removed everything from build menu, and I can't tell if things are under ceramics research or not anymore. Please add patch notes what you've changed.

@QOMRADEQUEER No worries! Glad I could point it out.

And you know what, I've messed around with Rimworld art before and I'm pretty competent with a vector graphics program, (which is what Oskar uses for vanilla expanded art) and I'd be willing to throw my hat in the ring if you want to give it a shot. Add me on steam if you're interested and we can go from there!

@ComradeKai Oof! Sorry about the storage issue. I'll attempt to get a small fix out today. Can't believe I overlooked that!

I hope to eventually find an artist who'd love to collaborate on EB (and EW2, etc).

New update is great! I am having one issue though, unfired bricks don't appear in any storage menus, which means they can't be put in a stockpile or other storage before firing.

Also, the kiln textures from the original Ceramics mod are kinda... bad not gonna lie. I think I'll try using Outland Core and cherry picking out the things I don't want from it.

Probably one of the best new rimworld mods

The latest update might make current saves a little wonky due to changes in how patches are handled. This should not break any save games, but you may lose some resources.

@UncleRippu Let me know if you still encounter issues.

Very nice work!
