1998 - 2001 Guns - We Were Brothers: Liberation

We Were Brothers: Liberation
4 items
Description
A set of guns used in the three UCK/KLA conflicts for the "We Were Brothers: LIberation" expansion pack. These guns are included here because they were not used in any of the wars featured in the main pack (at least to my knowledge. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

Current version: Beta 0.1

To-Do before Release 1.0:
- fix anything based on comments
- add the RP-46 and Zastava CZ 99

What’s included:

UCK/KLA Guns:
- AMAC-1500 anti-materiel rifle - an imported American single-shot prototype rifle that has been pictured in use with the KLA multiple times. How it got to Kosovo (despite being produced in small numbers and no evidence of commercial sales) is currently unknown.
- ASh-78 assault rifle - a very crappy copy of the Type 56, itself a copy of the AK-47. However, unlike the M70B1, it comes with a bayonet.
- Barrett M82 anti-materiel rifle - you probably know this one already. It can fire fast and is pretty powerful, if you can control the recoil.
- RPD (Albania) light machine gun - a “borrowed” remnant from the Hoxha regime, it should supply you with enough firepower despite the limited magazine size (by machine gun standards)
- SiG SG 510 battle rifle - a “borrowed” gun from Europe, sometimes called the “Swiss FG-42”. It’s insanely controllable but also has the limited magazine size of the FG-42.
- Spectre M4 submachine gun - this lil’ baby has about 20 more rounds per mag than the M92, but the M92 will still deck you at anything longer than across-the-street distance.
- Steyr Scout sniper rifle - an unusually controllable and speedy bolt-action, one can actually aim this one without losing sight of the target through the scope.
- Type 56 rocket launcher - an even crappier remnant of the Hoxha regime, it is a piece of utter doodoo that can’t hit things from very far, but you know what? You’re stuck with it, so you better not whine about it.
- Type 63 (Albania) assault rifle - when the AK just isn’t enough, you use this. Has the accuracy of the SKS while being more controllable than the weird Bosnian conversion in the ARBiH gun pack, but has a smaller magazine size.

FR Yugoslav guns:

- Zastava M91 sniper rifle - a visible improvement over the M76, it has higher muzzle velocity and thus can hit targets from farther away.
- Zastava M92 assault carbine - essentially a scaled-down AK, this comes with a flash suppressor and will more commonly be seen among JSO members in my missions.
- Zastava M93 ‘Crna Strela’ anti-materiel rifle - the Serbian answer to the Barrett, the M93 is more controllable and dead-accurate against any appropriately-sized vehicle you can penetrate with it.

Possible Questions:

Q: "Can I request things?"
A: No.

Q: "Why can’t I use the iron sights on some of the rifles?"
A: Because they don’t have them modeled, and are purely reliant on the scope. I’ll get around to modeling iron sights on the affected ones eventually.

Q: "Why are there Alb*nian guns in my Yugoslav war mod?"
A: Because it was written in bible 3000 years ago that Albania is most powerful plentiful and most generous nation on Earth they donate to all who need it that is why AI minister is in Albania and only Albania government because AI gods choose Albania to carry out their will and when second coming of SkanderbegAI is here only holy people of Albania will be spared but Sl*vs of course will deny their own text and say that it’s from Albania nearly collapsing in 1997, because running a post-communist country can be hard sometimes. When order falls apart, guns tend to get looted from army stockpiles and spread/sold elsewhere and since Kosovo was right next door, well, that’s all she wrote. It was so bad that 80% of the KLA was reportedly armed with the ASh-78 (the then-service rifle of the Albanian army) which is why I just had to include it.

Q: "Why are some of the gun reload sounds kinda meh?"
A: Admittedly, I kind of rushed them so I didn’t have to balance new reload sounds. However, I promise that a giant sound rework will come eventually after the release of the Siege of Bihac campaign in the roadmap (which you can see in the description of the main collection)

Q: "Why did you name some guns with the "(Albania)" thing but not the Type 56? Is that not a Chinese weapon used by Albania?"
A: It is, but the name was getting too long in the inventory. Plus (in the Hot Zone mod, at least) it’s already called the RPG-2, so I doubt any other mods are going to call it that unlike with the RPD, Type 63, and the planned RP-46.
