You are one of numerous nobles in the world where ruined age of high technology left the cosmos scarred and scarce: most worlds are dead or poisoned, and the bulk of humanity clings to vast orbital stations, salvage hubs and fortified arcologies where life support, fuel and working machines are jealously guarded. Out of the collapse rose a low-tech feudal order—hereditary dynasties control fleets of rusting habitat-rings and convoy ships, sworn vassals keep districts and factories running, and specialized guilds (salvagers, engineers, life-system priests, mercenary captains) monopolize knowledge and tools. Political life is brittle and ritualized: rank, marriage, and the right to command a jump convoy matter as much as firepower, succession crises spark localized wars, and relics of old science are political currency rather than common goods. Treat this world as one of constrained resources, slow but consequential technological use, and constant dynastic maneuvering—formal in surface order, volatile beneath it.
