His healthbar refused to go down below 20%. Nothing could damage him. Even powerful entity clearing sweps like the Orbital Friendship Cannon couldn't kill him.

As I type this, I remembered I had insane stats on. That could be the factor, but his level was completely unaffected. But I'll try again.

He only feigns death twice, so keep shooting him until he dies for real. This is also stated in his bestiary entry
