I've always loved the mechanics of stacking psionic aura effectiveness with specific civics like Psionic Imperial and Psionic Machine Intelligence, but found it frustrating that other empires had limited options to enhance their psionic aura. This mod aims to give all psionically ascended empires the ability to infinitely scale their psionic aura effectiveness.

2025/10/10 Update: It occurred to me that even with high aura effectiveness, the short propagation range prevents neighboring empires from fully experiencing the aura's debuffs - which isn't ideal for dominating the AI. So I've added an upgraded building that allows stacking aura propagation range. The values are conservative, designed to help you affect adjacent AI empires, unless you're using other mods that provide infinite psionic jobs.
Also fixed icon color issues and white outlines caused by image conversion problems.

Mod Content

New Technology: Psionic Aura Empowerment
  • Society technology, Psionics category.
  • Requires "Psionic Aura" technology to unlock.
  • Greatly increased appearance chance if you've researched the vanilla "Psionic Aura Intensification" technology.
  • Unlocks building: Psionic Nexus.

New Building: Psionic Nexus
  • Provides empire-wide psionic aura effectiveness scaling based on the number of working Telepath jobs on the planet.
  • More jobs = higher bonuses - infinite stacking potential.

  • Requires "Psionic Aura Empowerment" technology to unlock.

Building Effects

Psionic Nexus
  • Can be built once per planet.
  • Provides psionic aura effectiveness bonus proportional to the number of working Telepath jobs on the planet (e.g., 500 Telepath jobs yield +25% psionic aura effectiveness).
  • Provides 300 Telepath jobs.

Psionic Resonator
  • Upgraded version of Psionic Nexus, can be built once per planet.
  • Provides 15% additional effectiveness multiplier on top of the base bonus (e.g., 500 Telepath jobs yield +28.75% psionic aura effectiveness).
  • Increases psionic aura propagation range based on Telepath jobs (+1 range per 400 Telepath jobs).
  • Provides 400 Telepath jobs.

Compatibility
This mod does not override any vanilla XML files and should be theoretically compatible with most other mods.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm hesitant to change the upkeep cost because some players find lower upkeep more relaxing and enjoyable. If I were to increase it significantly, I might create a separate patch mod for that change. The issue where crisis ships aren't affected by auras targeting hostile units appears to be a game bug. I haven't checked yet if there's anything in the XML files that controls this, but if there is, I'll fix it. The problem with the mod name is likely due to an error on my part when uploading the files. I'll re-upload it once I have time.

Upkeep of the building should be way higher imo,couple hundreds at least. Whatcha think about making crisis/aggressive neutrals "hostile" so auras affect them?
Maybe via a very very expensive technology? Also it is very confusing that the name of the mod in irony manager is in Chinese when it steam its in English.

In the "Shadows of the Shroud" DLC, Psionic Ascension grants special buffs, and PA Effectiveness makes these bonuses stronger. Or perhaps my translation is off? I've seen it called "Psionic Aura Effectiveness" in the game's code.
