Cauterized - a hardcore survival scenario

Description
A lore-driven hardcore-survival scenario for single- and multiplayer

You were only in transit through the Velotrin system when disaster hit: A cosmic gamma ray burst fried the system, destroying or damaging most of the ships and stations. You were in the sickbay when your ship was hit, and it seems only you survived. You need to get off the ship. And you need to find a way to hide from the radiation still sweeping through the system…

What is this?
This is a lore driven survival scenario in which you will need to stay ahead of hunger, radiation and asphyxiation – you will get from one burning wreckage into another one and try to find enough resources and information to survive until you find out who has survived and how to get to them.
Settings:
Perma-death on
Respawn with low stats
Heavy radiation
1x tool speeds
3x character inventory
Hunger moderate

Who is this for?
This is designed to be a terribly frustrating and tough scenario, especially in the beginning. If you are immune to frustration, know this game from the inside out and love tough spaces, this is for you.

You can play it solo or with one other player!

How to play it
You spawn on the burning husk of your transport, a civilian liner. Gather what you can and try to get away by starting the escape pods on the lowest deck. They will take off without you, so once you press the button make sure to hop on!

The pods will take you to the downed battlecruiser “Menyra” – you will have limited time to get aboard before the radiation kills you – even in darkness. The upper drone hangar, near your drop pod’s final destination, is the most likely place to find some shelter. But you will need to find equipment to repair the door that leads to the inner decks.

The Menyra is a death trap in the beginning: the computer core is damaged and is randomly changing the status of almost every block on the ship, changing even the names of them. Doors randomly open and expose you to the radiation on the outside of the ship. Interior turrets are on lock down mode and will shoot at you immediately. Automated repair systems will harm you if you get too close.
Your goal is to find more and more equipment and tools to help you to find safe spots on the ship and to slowly take control of her. You can either build your own smaller ship to escape or try to make the Menyra space worthy again.
Gather information on datapads and displays to find out where to get next and find other survivors in the system.
PLEASE NOTE: JOIN IMPERIAL CIVILIANS AS A FACTION FIRST!
CHECK THE DATAPADS IN LOCKERS AND CONTAINERS FOR ADDITIONAL GPS

Additional tips: (Read them if you’re stuck!)

Plan ahead for trips into the irradiated areas of the ship and try to get as much Algae Salad as possible – it reduces exposure temporarily
Getting a respawn point ASAP is paramount – you don’t have one once you leave via drop pod!
The forward sections of the ship are less irradiated than the heavily damaged engine room.
There is a haywire programmable block somewhere changing the properties of the systems – finding it will make your life easier.
The asteroid the Menyra crashed on is irradiated itself, it will be terribly dangerous outside, getting the ship away from it will make your life easier.

This World comes with OPTIONAL mods. You can remove them, but they are adding much to the atmosphere of the scenario.

The world comes with four non-optional mods:

Planet Tohil by Major Jon

*1 ground settlement
*five planetary and stellar POI (stations, encounters and ships)
*More than 100 NPCs with their own texts
*a questline with multiple ways to play
*a metric ton of frustration

“How do winning conditions and progress conditions trigger?”
There are none. This is “just” a world with things placed in a story-telling order. The scenario will “start” when you press the button and the door opens
“Akhi.. Hakhu… what the heck?!”
Akhinnae – it’s my own world, with lore, language, history – I am a nerd, you know?
“DLC split the community, why do you use them here?”
For this scenario, you do not need to own any DLC. You will need to exchange the DLC blocks that should be repaired with regular blocks in the base during gameplay, otherwise this works fine

Finished my new ship, made it so that it would be significantly smaller and thus less intensive for my rig....

Well....

I posted it in next to your ship @Sarekh and well, you see...

Having fun with your worlds, as usual. Thanks for all the hard work.

Have to admit, it was a temptation to load the undamaged ship into a world, just to maybe look for the spawn room after dying 5 times but I didn't!

Thanks again and keep up the hard work, it is appreciated

I made it to the hospital, although I couldn't find the named NPC in the lower decks, I also made it to the penal colony and the food transport, my new ship is about 40% done

So i seem to have encountered an issue I don't spawn in with the data pad that the lcd refers to as the manual . . . doubt this is intentional i have attempted reinstalling and re creating the world same result it might have something to also do with the fact there's a body bag behind me when i load in implying i have died some how in the spawn room? but the body bag also has nothing in it I have searched the lockers&beds along with the desks for the manual to no avail . . . I dunno if this is just effecting me though

I've visited about half the locations before my (not so powerful) rig started having issues, I'm designing a new ship to use instead of the battleship and will do a new play through once it's done.

Perhaps I should stop repairing and 'borrowing' every ship I see to add to the fleet...

@Sarekh => Why by the hand... use the restore argument in the PB ^^

Very nice! I also did some follow-up missions :) As i am not a fan of huge ships i took the opportunity to try the new [AVI] Stormcutter instead of repairing the Battleship.
This scenario got me killed alot lol
Nice job and thx alot for this!

I think a renaming script might be in order once you find and get a hold of the PB that causes the constant remaning. I would say that's acceptable ^^

half the people that tested it found it oddly satisfying to rename stuff by hand - it is your playthrough after all!

thank you all for trying this!
