DawnbringerProphet

描述
"Dawnbringer Prophet" is a Cities of Sigmar inspired mod for COE5. More specifically, it draws heavily from Dominion by Darius Hinks and Yndrasta: The Celestial Spear by Noah Van Nguyen for key fiction inspiration.

Dawnbringer Prophet is a gold+iron+relics (+ two other resources, potentially) faction that starts as a moderately armed caravan, founds a city in the mountains, and gradually diversifies. Through rituals and rare commander officers, you will gradually gain access to a variety of "subfactions". These will give you new capabilities. Many of your Relic powered rituals will produce Strange Mist on the tiles where you cast them, which can potentially affect your ability to see what is happening on the world map. Your economy will be very strong in the early game, but you lack much access to high level battle magic.

Please note that this mod was created with fondness for both Age of Sigmar and Conquest of Elysium, but I am not interested in faithfully translating every detail of the tabletop wargame. I highly recommend checking out Vorochi's Warhammer Fantasy and 40k mods if you are more interested in that approach to faction design, they've been doing some phenomenal work!
Please DO suggest more jokes about silly lore details I can put in my unit descriptions. The unreliable narrators are one of the most delightful aspect of modern Conquest of Elysium, and this mod was in large part created off of imagining how those unhinged scholars would misunderstand first contact with warhammer's particular flavors of nonsense.

This faction gets to recruit Stormcast elite soldiers in Bronze Castles, but I recommend that you think very carefully before you open that Experimental Star Bridge with your Knight-Incantor. It may not pan out the way you hope, comrade! There are at least two hidden ways to set off an apocalyse with Dawnbringer commanders.

(The unit sprites for this mod use edited pixel art from Battle for Wesnoth, an open source turn-based strategy game. All visual and audio assets are licensed under either the GNU GPL v2 or later, or the Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0. A full credits list for Wesnoth artists/programmers is viewable at wiki.wesnoth.org/Credits. Check it out if you are a COE fan!)

Created by glacier, with advice from akulanization, Drakenclaw, habituallyred, Jazzwails, HSmasher, Rinkrat47, and Vorochi.
Sprite art assistance from Yukovalis.
Musket and cannon sound FX copied from Vorochi with permission.
Thank you to the modding support channel on the CoE discord!
(mechanically inspired by the Great Houses of Morrowind mod by Please Differ Your Deliberations on coe5 steam workshop, some of Vorochi's Warhammer mods and particularly Vampire Counts playtesting. Probably a bit of Terracotta Emperor there too, I definitely got ideas from them using Enchanted Weed as incense.)

Thanks for reading. Whoever you are, I hope you have a lovely day!

Resource production isn’t determined by the specific faction, enchanted weed is produced by ancient forests and Hoburg villages.

The Stormcast Prosecutors kind of stop moving and don't move into melee.

Alright, I am not AoS fan but I'll try out this mod. It seems to be well made.

For future factions, I'd recommend the Idoneth Deepkin, and any of the factions unique to Age of Sigmar. We have a fair number of options for Warhammer Fantasy/40k content across Conquest of Elysium and Dominions, so I think it would be great to see more of AOS unique elements. That being said, I'd love it if the Darkling Covens Sorceress could bring in some of her elite infantry, like Black Guard and Executioners!

Is there a way to collect enchanted weed? I recruited a Branchwych and can trade for it, but I couldn't find any territory that produces it.

Always nice to see Age of Sigmar content.

I will grudgingly move the outriders to mid rank. On the one hand, they are idiots, but on the other, they DO have a job that involves luring enemies into range of slow melee types

dove back into the mod:D
first thing i noticed was Freeguild outriders being front rank. i feel like they should be either mid/back or at least front- as they are working as ranged units for their fast horse army and also dont have armor.

I've got a Nagashizzar mod steadily on the way, myself

Orruks and legions of nagash would be pretty sick, though Tzeentch also sounds like a decent amount of fun

You're welcome. I look forward to hearing what you think of it! Any factions you are particularly interested in seeing AoS mods for in the future? I have a Tzeentch mod about 50% done, and I have sketchy outlines for Kharadron (caravan mechanics inspired by morrowind mod), Seraphon (ethereal vs armored heavy infantry, terraforming), Hedonites (poison longbows, Aztlan access), and a particularly ambitious Deathrattle King concept.
