I am not the original author of this mod. I have forked and updated it for RimWorld 1.6. If the original author requests its removal, I will respectfully comply.

Q: What did you change in the original?
A: Quite a few things. Most are developer-based changes.
  • The sculpture now inherits from what other vanilla sculptures inherit from.
  • Removed the unusual damaged box overlay texture that appeared when the sculpture was damaged. The damaged overlay texture now matches vanilla sculptures.
  • Added Meditation focus type "Flame". I think it fits very well with this type of sculpture.
  • Code-wise, I removed redundant code and rewrote certain things. All code is included in the mod if you want to check it out. I also included a small readme of certain changes.
  • Fixed the error that occurred in 1.6
  • Made minor text changes and improved grammar in descriptions and strings. (Also added the art inspect tab, which the original mod did not include).
  • Various other small tweaks.

Pyronomaniac adds the Pyro Pacifier, a new sculpture type that calms pyromaniacs during fire-starting sprees. They are drawn to its flickering faux flames, which help suppress their urge to ignite fires.

The Pyro Pacifier's flickering faux flames emit no heat or real danger, ensuring even the most reckless pyromaniac won’t accidentally turn your barracks into a barbecue pit.

How It Works
  • When a pyromaniac enters the fire-starting spree mental state, they will search for a Pyro Pacifier within a 50-tile radius.
  • If a Pyro Pacifier is found, they will approach it and reflect on their intrusive thoughts until their urge to start fires subsides.
  • If no Pyro Pacifier is present, the pyromaniac will proceed with their usual spree behavior.

Key Mechanics
  • Crafted at an art bench using 50 units of flammable metal (silver, gold, or steel) or wood, and 1 component.
  • Requires standable space on all sides.
  • Does not require refueling, as its faux flames are powered by a single component.
  • No research requirements.

  • Game Version: RimWorld 1.5+.
