Description
What is this?
This mod is a long-term project aiming to be a sweeping rewrite of many pieces of text in modded Rimworld. The goal is to have consistent standards and naming structures to avoid player confusion.

List of design goals
  • Proper capitalization everywhere
  • No references to meta user stuff
  • Remove all references to modding or modlists
  • Fit everything as if it was a real addition to the game

Advance Incubator
  • 'Advance Incubator' -> incubator (Capitalization, grammar, thematic consistency)
Ancient Urban Ruins
  • 'small fuel generator' -> small chemfuel powered generator (To fit with VE's naming structure)
Bioform Matrix
  • 'biosculptor linker' -> bioform matrix (Less meta name, might even be the intended name)
CAI 5000 - Advanced AI + Fog Of War
  • 'Animal Warning System' -> Animal warning system (Capitalization)
  • 'A Trained parrot in the nest.' -> A trained parrot in a nest, capable of breaching the fog of war and allowing you to see threats your colonists don't. (Actual explanation)
  • 'Automated Camera System' -> Camera surveillance (Capitalization)
  • 'An automated camera keep sight of an area.' -> An automated camera to keep sight of an area, capable of breaching the fog of war and allowing you to see threats your colonists don't. (Actual explanation)
  • 'Advanced Light Sensor' -> Advanced surveillance (Capitalization, clearer purpose)
  • 'New version of automated camera for' -> An advanced system to keep sight of an area, capable of breaching the fog of war and allowing you to see threats your colonists don't. (Original description seemed like they just forgot to finish writing it, actual explanation)
Pause other settlements simulation
  • 'Settlement Simulation Control' -> Pause settlements (Capitalization, clearer purpose)
  • 'If enabled, other settlements (non-current map and non-anomaly layers) will be paused. Disabling this will allow all other settlements to simulate.' -> If enabled, other settlements (non-current map and non-pocket maps) will be paused. Disabling this will allow all other settlements to simulate. (Removed references to the Anomaly DLC, instead focusing on the pocket maps themselves)
  • 'Pause new anomaly layers by default' -> Pause new pocket maps by default (Ditto)
  • 'If checked, newly discovered anomaly layers will be paused by default.' -> If checked, newly discovered pocket maps will be paused by default. (Ditto)
  • 'Check to pause simulation for this anomaly layer.' -> Check to pause simulation for this pocket map. (Ditto)
  • 'If checked, pocket maps (anomaly layers) will be automatically paused when you are not viewing their parent settlement.\n*This feature consumes a small amount of ticks.' -> If checked, pocket maps will be automatically paused when you are not viewing their parent settlement.\n*This feature has a small potential performance impact. (Ditto, and less technical terminology)
Research Papers
  • 'research paper' -> knowledge (clearer purpose, eliminates confusion around schematics and blueprints)
  • 'A paper containing details of completed research. Losing it results in a loss of knowledge.' -> Papers containing the completed notes of your full understanding of a topic. Losing it results in a loss of its knowledge. (Clearer purpose)
Roo's Satyr and Faun Xenotypes Expanded
  • 'fae craftables' -> fae technology (more consistent with vanilla lingo)
Roo's Minotaur Xenotype
  • 'milking spot' -> human milking spot (To eliminate confusion about a potential spot for milking animals)
  • 'A place where pawns with the lactation gene will automatically produce milk. How much they produce can be toggled in the mod settings menu.' -> A place where pawns with the lactation gene will automatically produce milk. (Remove unnecessary meta references)
[JF] Royal Carpets
  • 'Royal Carpet (#)' -> royal carpet (pattern #) (Capitalization, clearer purpose to naming structure)
Vanilla Furniture Expanded
  • 'bench' -> modular bench (Naming structure consistency)
  • 'counter' -> modular counter (Naming structure consistency)
  • 'long plant pot' -> modular plant decoration (Naming structure consistency, clearer purpose)

If you are fixing spelling errors, someone pointed out the other day that the word desiccated is spelled wrong about 95% of the time. Most of the time it is spelled dessicated.

Also, there is a small error in the Hack_Spacedrone text description on line 43, where it says "decent", instead of "descent".

I forget which one but there were tent mods but the inconsistent capitalization annoyed me. They might have fixed it already but I’ll try to find the series.
