Description

Version 1.0.6 - The Kashyyyk defence mission from the original SWBF2 (2005) campaign, scripted by PixzL with some creative liberty using the Star Wars Galaxy at War mod (v0.76). Map originally created by the talented Darth Bacon and only slightly modified by PixzL to suit the mission itself. This whole project took roughly 2 weeks to complete with the whole idea being to try and be as faithful to the original campaign as feasibly possible.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"When we arrived on Kashyyyk, things were just as bad as we'd feared. The droids had us outgunned, outmaneuvered and outmanned by a five-to-one margin. What none of us had counted on was the Wookiees. We'd all heard the stories, of course, but we'd never fought next to them, never seen them rip apart a droid with their bare hands. They were magnificent. Even so it was still a suicide mission. At least it was, until Master Yoda arrived. Then it became a battle -- a winnable battle."

This mission has cooperative availability and can be playable with up to 8 people in a lobby. MP Resources are scarce and are distributed amongst the team. This means each player has to strategically use their reinforcements wisely to put up a solid defence before they can start spending their MP on more unit types.

➢ New unit retextures and skins adhering to the original 2005 battlefront.
➢ Revamped weapon systems.
➢ Animations adapted from Gates of Hell.
➢ Custom GUI, portraits, and other reinforcement icons.
➢ Voicelines taken directly from the game.
➢ Pre-rendered intro and outro 501st journal cutscenes.
➢ Challenging 'Elite' difficulty.

— Hotfix Update 1.0.6 —
• Play tested 'easy' 'normal' and 'hard' difficulties and adjusted them accordingly so the allied forces do not outright push the enemy back to spawn.
• Wookie barricade is now more easily destructible.
• Fixed a bug where the enemy outpost garrison atop the platforms didn't have their AI enabled.
• Reset republic faction phase 2's breeds regarding their icon priority.
• Changed LAAT-C script upon death where it should get deleted from the battle map.
• Touched up a few map details that were missed during retexturing.
• Decreased ammo count for turrets.
• Galactic Frontier is compatible with this mod but it changes quite a few vanilla textures (environment stamps, grass, and droideka skins to name a few).

@Oorestis Yeah I'm not reading all that wall of text. You can continue to write a 200 word essay about what ever but I'd rather not hijack PixL's comment section with this convo.

Rate the mod, or don't - just keep the bickering to a minimum I will delete any further comments unrelated to the mod.

Also HeavenlyPoke you are not the creator of this mod, PixzL is and he was not rude to me, so maybe the lesson here it to not but in and be rude to random strangers you don't know in order to look cool or something. I barely comment in public or on discord so I don't know what goes in the forums and how people talk to each other on a daily basis. So if you are used to all being toxic to each other and interpreting everyone's comment in the most negative way possible all the time it bares no responsibility with me and frankly it does not mean just because you are used to this status quo that you should pass on this toxicity to the rest of of us.

Also the bug I mentioned I do not know if it was interpreted as rudeness but in general I was always critical of mods in general not just this one that are not being thoroughly tested at least on their basic functions like the very first mission before being published. I was always in fact the person who preferred when mods are delayed for the sake of improvement and not rushed, the exact opposite of what you label me as a person who is ungrateful and wants everything now.

"You could also be less rude/ungrateful when reporting a bug" Wow, just wow...I don't want to talk much about this because it's clear I am dealing with some real messed up and psychotic personalities here. But I have to clearly state that I was only asking if this mod only provides one mission because I was confused when I opened the game if there might have been more hidden on some other menu because these mods constantly confuse the way the missions are listed in the menu. Yet somehow you interpreted my comment as an all out attack based on a form of ingratitude like I want "more" and yet here I am explaining myself when clearly I am not obliged to do so.

• Removed autoassigning the player extra units and turrets as this caused a visual bug where the player was not able to tell if they received said units - preventing the fallback objective from completing.

@Oorestis This mod is more of a taster to show the community the type of quality to expect in future projects from me. However, I will add an update to this mod to hopefully bring an ultimate end to the 'fall bag' bug - for future reference if anyone is wondering, it is not strictly a bug, the player gets assigned two turrets to them but they do not show up on the left side of the screen unless the player selects the turrets respectively.

@HeavenlyPoke I appreciate the sentiment and thanks for sticking up for me mate. But yes, this can be deceiving as when you activate the mod you are given a plethora of campaign options, so YES at some point I will try to recreate the entirety of Battlefront into GAW whilst combining all of my mods (apart from 41 commando) into one big mod that includes the skirmish missions, space missions, etc but it will take time and I prefer to do this AFTER galaxy at war updates to their final iteration of the mod.

@Oorestis How many missions did you expect? It's a recreation of a single mission from a older star wars game, not a whole campaign set of missions - that would require much time/effort. Also remember these modders are not paid to create content for the community, they do this on their own time. You could also be less rude/ungrateful when reporting a bug.
