Active Camouflage

Description
Active Camouflage
This mod gives the ability to cloak the player and your squadmates, making you harder to detect by AI. Inspired by games like Ghost Recon or Halo it will apply a translucent effect to the players uniform, it also has a charge which drains with use, which can be monitered by a descrete bar in the bottom of your screen.

You will not be fully invisible, however your visual and auditry range of detection will be greatly reduced, allowing for easier stealth and movement. The degree that you will be cloaked by can be changed in settings, allowing you to choose how strong the cloaking is. You can also pick how fast it drains and how quick it recharges using the CBA addon settings.

Events like firing your weapon and taking damage will deactivate the cloak, and beacause the mod effects the players ability to be spotted, crawling/crouching and not moving also affects how easily the player can be spotted when cloaked.

Default key is U but this can be rebound in the vanilla controls menu. Also Active Camouflage HUD and cloaking effect can be disabled in menu. Now also supports VileHUD.

Arma will not allow retexturing to the players vest, skin, helmet or weapon so the translucent effect only applies to the uniform and backpack which is irritating but it will work with any loadout, just some look better than others.

How to add a uniform which allows cloak
An option is available to only allow cloak on certain uniforms, when activated it will check if the player is wearing any of the uniforms listed below the checkbox. To add your own go into editor, place a unit with the desired uniform and play the scenario as them. Then in the editor command box type: uniform player. Copy the output without quotation marks and paste into one of the editboxes in the addon config.

@Burbank Does it work with just this and CBA? How many mods do you play with?

So with the mods that I have, for whatever reason, adding this mod only gives me spikes of lag every like 2 or 3 seconds which makes the game unplayable. Only by removing this mod, does the spikes of lag go away.

@DasMathebuch HATG obscures the player if they’re in grass, since in vanilla they can see through it, this is like an ability that when active makes the player much harder to see even if stood or moving allowing them to approach enemies/escape a lot easier. Sorry for deleting your message, its really fiddly replying on phone and there’s no way to get it back

@jason0977 as @kes said. The other mods I've seen do this are great, but I have focused this mod on cloaking the player from the AI, without making the player invisible and requiring certain uniforms/items. It all depends on what the player wants as the other mods would be better for cloaking the AI from the player (hence why this mod doesn't cloak non-player group AIs)

@A3OB I have no experience making uniforms although they would be cool. Any other mod which makes these should work though

@jason0977 - You cannot dynamically change their textures on the fly, it would require creating a new item and then changing the player's worn item during gameplay. It's the same reason project dirt textures don't apply to the backpack or helmet, just the uniform.

what do you mean "Arma will not allow retexturing to the players vest, skin, helmet or weapon" there are multiple retex of vanilla and dlc content already - go for it - make everything translucent. this is underated content that need more love

@_jjk007 Client side, all of the effects are vanilla so everyone should still be able to see when someone is cloaked
