Hey all! Whilst I was busy over the summer I managed to whip up a little something for my next map! It's about four times the surface area of gm_engarde but (so far) takes place mostly outdoors, despite the rather agoraphobic setting there's still loads of small spaces to squeeze into. Since this is a WIP there are bound to be bugs, low detail areas, dead ends, missing textures galore (despite my best efforts) and the like. I'd love to hear feedback on all the things I've done wrong (and right!) and ideas on what else you'd be interested in seeing in this map.

I've also sanitized a number of scripted sequences as not to spoil too much but I did keep three or so. I've also provided two buggy's at the player spawn for ease of movement around this very large map.

Current features:
-farmstead with a fully fleshed out farmhouse
-hydroelectric pump station
-spillway moat
-a large geodesic structure above a quarry
-3 checkpoints
-numerous vehicle tunnels
-steam tunnels
-visitor's center
-corn fields
-Helicopter landing pad
-tall skybox
-huge map size
-electric fence grid
-labspaces
-scripted sequences
-river
-hills and cliffs
-navmesh

and most importantly...
ACRES OF BREAKABLE GLASS



Finally on the content front:

This map uses a variety of custom content, as well as content from L4D2 and Portal 2, and CS:S+EP2 content (now included in base gmod).

From my preliminary tests both the custom content and the portal 2 content packed without issue, but about 20% of textures and props from L4D2 aren't working so I'd advise having L4D2 installed and mounted to get rid of errors (sorry). If you have L4D2 mounted and still see errors then that means either the custom content or the portal 2 stuff is missing, so let me know about that.

For clarification portal 2 shouldn’t be needed, I just put it up there in case people were wondering what assets were used. Tf2 also packs fine so if I ever do use it for this map (doubtful) it won’t be required either. L4D2… is satan but unlike engarde I plan to have the final release packed from day one.

portal 2 content? aww.... I'm glad theres no tf2 content like tf2 no longer 8 gb small game anymore almost race with gta 6

Here’s a rough breakdown of the content:
50-60% hl2/css/ep2
20-30% l4d2
10-15% portal2
<5% custom content

So right now, more l4d2 but since I don’t have any issues packing portal assets I’ll probably use more in the future

Yes, and in fact it’s in the same relative area. I’m working to have it connect somewhat realistically, I may even include a level transition but it’ll depend on a few factors
