Flooded Plains

Between the Libyan desert and the sea, Jebel Akhdar rises as North Africa’s green stronghold. In the spring of 1941, heavy seasonal rains turned its fields and supply roads into flooded plains, slowing Axis convoys and giving Allied forces a critical window to strike.
