They were christened the "Sofia Loren" for their curved aesthetics and origins. There is even a photograph of the actress holding a picture of one of the locomotives. Their power and versatility made them effective in hauling long passenger trains to Temuco and on the route between Valparaíso and Santiago, as well as freight trains. EFE currently maintains one unit in operational condition, while a freight company has at least one unit that has recently operated.
