BR Class 332 and 333

Description
The British Rail Class 332 and Class 333 are Electric Multiple Units built by CAF and Siemens in Zaragoza, Spain for use on the Heathrow Express for the Class 332, and electrified commuter routes around Leeds, Bradford, and West Yorkshire for the Class 333. These trains have a distinctive look that has lead to them sometimes being given the nickname of "Fishbowl".

The Class 332 was built between 1997-1998 (some sets lengthened to 5 car in 2002), and only ran in service from 1998 to 2020. They were operated with 4 or 5 car sets, with them also working in multiple to form longer trains. They have a top speed of 110mph/180kmh, and a capacity of 333 for a 4 car, and 428 for a 5 car set. In the real world, these trains have all been withdrawn from service after Heathrow Express replaced them with Class 387s. This is due to their inability to operate on the rest of the UK rail network as they were only ever fitted with ATP and AWS, and the cost/benefit ratio to add TPWS was seen as being too costly. (The game has no such restriction and you could use it on a middle of nowhere line in Wales for all I care).

The Class 333, unlike the 332, is still in service. Built between 2000 and 2003, they have been in service since 2001 (with a refurbishment taking place between 2018 and 2020,) These trains only operate in 4 car sets, however for the first couple of years in service, they only operated in 3 car sets. While they always run as a single set in service, they have the capability to work in multiple if required. They have a top speed of 100mph/160kmh, and a capacity of 437 for a 4 car set, and 314 for a 3 car set.

Both trains only allow for up to 2 sets to be coupled.

Liveries include:
Heathrow Express Purple Doors (last worn livery), Heathrow Express Lilac Doors (as new) for the 332.
(I am not doing the advertising liveries, too many to keep track of for too little gain)

Northern (New), Northern Rail, Northern Spirit for the 333

With many thanks to:
