This guide is good for earning the following achievements:

• Wildlife Spotter - Find 1 animal
  
• Animal Tracker - Find 10 animals
  
• Complete Zoologist - Find all 24 animals
  
• Goose? - Find a goose
  
• Lord of the Geese - Find all 8 geese

These are all achievements that you're likely to earn through natural progression

• What's on this disc? - Start the game
  
• Artist - Create a custom pattern

• Forester - Complete the Forest (6 objects)
  
• Castaway Explorer - Complete the Island (6 objects)
  
• Deep Sea Explorer - Complete the Sunken City (7 objects)
  
• Urban Explorer - Complete the Suburb (7 objects)
  
• Dune Cartographer - Complete the Desert (8 objects)
  
• Speleologist - Complete the Cave (8 objects)
  
• Astronaut - Complete the Alien Planet (8 objects)

This achievement requires you to complete any level with less than 200,000 dots. Although you can technically do this on any map, there are a few that are significantly easier.

Island:

• Lots of water areas, so you don't have to worry about getting stuck on vegetation
  
• 6 objectives
  
• Open area, may be hard to find objectives without using excess dots

Suburb:

• Objectives are smaller and quick to scan
  
• 7 objectives
  
• Lots of vegetation and fences that you might get stuck on

Cave:

• Lots of straight passages and minimal vegetation to get blocked by
  
• 8 objectives
  
• Long level

Organism:

• 1 objective
  
• Super long passageway to get to the objective
  
• Takes a while to scan the objective

I also suggest messing with the custom scanner, since it can help you make the scanner radius smaller and therefor use less dots.

Moving while the map is open is also helpful. You can see when you're moving or stuck on objects, as well as you can see all your objectives.

I personally earned this achievement on the Suburb level. I was able to scan all objectives and still have quite a few dots leftover to help navigate to other objectives and the exit. I would increase the scanner radius while trying to find my way around obstacles, and shrink the scanner radius anytime I was scanning an objective.
