LK-25 Small Miner

The LK-25 is a small starter miner capable of short range expeditions within 5-10 kilometers of a base or carrier.

HOT FIX: After some feedback I moved the antenna and added a small projector for easy repairs.


Credit goes to YoshiWoof22 who made a re-spawn pod for the LK server 25-1 (Hence the name) that this miner was built around. This miner was also built and tested using Yoshi's amazing LK - Combat: Revitalized mod also used on the LK server. You need to try this mod out, seriously.

Manufactured and sold by Orbital Recourse & Energies— simple, lightweight, and meant to get you going quickly. You’ll likely replace it before long, but it’s still a key step in your progression. While ion thrusters could give you longer flight times, I deliberately chose hydrogen thrusters. A typical run — filling your inventory and flying back to base — only burns about half of your fuel, so you might as well enjoy the stronger thrust and lower component cost.

Although it will be replaced by a larger miner with more storage fairly early on, this ship remains useful as a secondary tool for excavating asteroid bases. It is primarily designed for space and has been tested in gravity up to 1.2 g, but it cannot fly under load in gravity—so keep it in space.

• Extend your travel distance by turning off your inertia dampeners (Z key) once you get up to speed in a straight line.
  
  
• Never fly straight towards an asteroid. Always aim a few hundred meters away from the asteroid.
