Tiered Tech Blocks - Unofficial Apex Update & Reskins

Hello Engineers!

This is my expanded and updated version of the "[Not maintained] Tiered Tech Blocks (Prototech update)" mod. My goal was to extend this fantastic but unmaintained mod to include the new blocks from the "Apex" update and to integrate some new custom models.

This is my very first attempt at modding for Space Engineers, so it's possible that not everything works perfectly yet. I appreciate any and all feedback!




Important Note

This is an unofficial continuation. All credit for the original idea and the majority of the work goes to the original authors! Please support their original Workshop items as well.

I only started this project because the previous version was no longer being maintained, and I wanted to have the new blocks available in my game.




What This Version Adds

This version adds upgraded (Tier 2, 4, 8) versions of the following blocks to the game:

  • All new tools (Drills, Welders, Grinders) and Ore Detectors with new "Reskin" models.
  • The new blocks from the "Apex" update, such as the Industrial Drill.
  • (You can add more here if you've edited other blocks)




Known Issues & Future Plans

Known Issues:
  • Some icons may not display correctly yet. I'm working on it.

Future Plans:
  • Bug fixes and balancing adjustments.
  • Potentially adding more blocks from future updates.

Hello!

Thank you very much for your kind comment and positive feedback! You're absolutely right, it really is a lot of work, but it's also fun when you can help the community with it.

That's a very good question regarding the crafting of the tech components. There should be a setting for it somewhere in the mod's configuration files to disable it. To be honest, I haven't looked for it yet, but that's a great idea for a "scrapyard" scenario. I will take a look as soon as I find the time.

First off, THANK YOU!!! I have been running servers for friends for a long time and know how much work can go into solving problems. I am thankful for your time and sharing it with the community. I am just wondering if there is an easy way to edit setting such as tech spawning. I am working on a public scrapyard type server and only want our peeps to be able to buy tech from shops.

Hey Null! That's awesome, thanks for confirming the fix! And that's a great suggestion about the Half Block Oxygen Farm. I'll add it to my to-do list for the next update. Thanks for the idea!

Dang man. That was quick. Just logged in real quick and it looks like everything is there. I noticed tiered oxygen farms exist, did you plan on doing the same for the new Half Block version?

Hey Null, thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! You were absolutely right, the definitions for the Reskin Ore Detectors were missing in the last update by mistake.

I've just pushed a new update that fixes this. Could you check and let me know if it's working for you now? Thanks again for your help!

I should correct what I originally said. The icons threw me off. It seems everything I have checked works but the Ore Detector Type II
