NCE – Expanded Coverage (4941 Armors)

This is just a pre-generated mod file using an application I created with Visual Studio (and Github Copilot man thank Okran for Copilot) which expands coverage of armors beyond what NCE – Collection Pack currently offers. You can actually download and run the app on your own modlist if you wish. It takes lichurally 60 seconds.

NCE – Collection Pack coverage: 4,112 armours (it's spelled armour. John Kenshi said so)
This version’s coverage: 4,941 armours

That’s an extra 829 armors accounted for including vanilla. If your modlist is 800+ and cooked like mine is, this will give you wider compatibility right out of the gate, no downloading fifty million NCE patches.

Missing Something?
If you notice a modded armor piece that isn’t included, please comment it below. I’ll patch it in immediately — no waiting, no bureaucracy, no "we'll look into it", just "You want that covered? Boom, done".

What This Mod Does (and Doesn’t Do):
Removes cut efficiency from armors from everything it can find.
Does not adjust the Cut Defense Bonus afterward.

This means that:
Every piece of armor, from rags to masterwork plate, now offers full protection of its listed stats.
Fights last longer. No more instant floppy-ragdoll collapse after one bad hit. You’ll be carving through meat shields, hold the tissue paper.
Early game is less cruel. Low-tier armor no longer has trash-tier efficiency, which means that stolen Drifter's Booty Shorts might actually save you from an unscheduled proctology exam with a flesh cleaver.

In practice, combat feels a little slower, a little more deliberate, and armor actually does something. I like it. You might, too. Or maybe you’ll hate it. I completely understand. That’s the beauty of Kenshi: suffering is customizable.

About the “Missing Dependencies” Warning
When you enable this mod, Kenshi’s launcher may show a “missing dependencies” warning. This is completely safe to ignore. What it really means is if your load order doesn’t include some of the armors that this mod edits, Kenshi will simply skip those entries. The game won’t crash, nothing will break — it just won’t load edits for armors you don’t have installed. If you’re running a big modlist, you’ll probably see it often and you know about this already.

Workshop doesn't support uploading .exes so it's on the Nexus if you wish to use that. It took me about 4 days and sleepless nights, at least a gallon of caffeine, and much frustration to make, but don't feel bad. I half made it for the community and half made it to see what OpenConstructionSet and myself are capable of.

Get the application on Nexus:

Application open-source AND public domain (Unlicensed or MIT) source code here:

Feel free to poke around and see how it was done if you wish. It's all totally free reign to download and manipulate.

Booty shorts mentioned above:

If you do enjoy this work, please show it. Your comments will keep me going through my next sleepless coding binge.

And thank you for being here and reading this far. Seriously.

Seeing the comments about imbalances this mod causes makes me feel bad a little because I tried so hard and for so long to automate rebalancing the resistances after efficiency was removed using Visual Studio and I just could not get it working properly. If I finally find the skeleton key to this problem I WILL add it to the application as an optional step and upload a version that both removes efficiency and adjusts 'cut def bonus', as in rebalances resistance post-removal. When that day comes we will have free, automated, properly balanced cut efficiency removal for all armor mods for the rest of time (by using the application). I didn't expect anyone to really care for such a mod so thank you to everyone who chose to entertain it.

@DeliciousCitrus Shouldn't it be that way? Pretty sure a dog no matter how large a breed, or any wild animal at that is incapable of biting through full plate armor.

Keep in mind 100% cut efficiency which is what this mod does effectively nerfs all crossbows and harpoons and animal damage into the dirt with high end armor.

Since animals deal pierce damage just like turrets and crossbows do this means a minimum damage leviathan will do a measly 2.0458 damage to a person in masterwork samurai tier armor

Fuck I better sub so my torso doesn't get split in half like a mudcrab on skooma...

Not mentioned; removing cut efficiency like this prevents animals from dealing damage to you should they hit armor.
