Insect Caravan Pack & Graze

Description
🌱 MOD Overview 🐜
Want to lead a swarm of insectoids to raid enemy settlements?
This mod is made for players who enjoy that kind of roleplay.

When bringing insectoids into a caravan, you usually face these problems…
✅ They can’t carry packs
✅ Despite being omnivores, they won’t graze on wild plants
✅ Colonists must haul huge amounts of food just to feed them

── Insect Caravan: Pack and Graze solves these issues.

🔷 All insectoids can now graze
→ Tamed insectoids will eat wild plants while pastured or on caravan travel, reducing food burden.

🔷 Selected insectoids can serve as pack animals
→ They can carry inventory for your caravans.

🌟 Features 🌟

🔸 Omnivorous Grazing
Insectoids in your colony are now omnivores and will graze on wild plants during pasture or caravan travel.
(For performance reasons, wild insectoids will not graze.)
This applies globally to the insectoid race, so it also works automatically with insectoids added by other mods.

🔸 Pack Animal Support
The following insectoids are enabled as caravan pack animals:
• Megaspider
• Spelopede
• Royal Spelopede (VFE-I2)
• Megapede (VFE-I2)
• Royal Megaspider (VFE-I2)
• Tankroach (VFE-I2)
• Ironclad (VFE-I2)

🏇 Pack Icon Display
Just like in vanilla RimWorld, the pack icon only shows when the insectoid is actually carrying caravan inventory.

⚠ Notes
Insectoids cannot be tied to the vanilla caravan hitching spot.
Because this is inconvenient, a separate mini-mod is under development to allow tamed insectoids to gather at a dedicated “Insect Caravan Post.”

🔧 Requirements & Compatibility

Harmony is required

Works without Vanilla Factions Expanded: Insectoids 2
(but note: 5 out of the 7 supported pack insectoids are from VFE-I2)

Compatible with RimWorld v1.6

Recommended to use with VFE-Insectoids 2

Thanks. I'll check the error a bit after I finish work.

I added a suggested code change that fixed the issue for me.

I'll put my changes in the discussion tab.

There is an issue with the mod trying to patch VFEI2, where if you are not using that mod it throws an error:

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to make the image for me.
I’ve added a preview art credit with your handle to both the README and the About.

No problem, i posted it in the comments of the reddit post, i also made a discussion for it in this steam mod page.

Whoa, you really drew that? That’s awesome, thanks! If you’re cool with it, there’s a Reddit thread for this mod — you can post it there. Just search 'Insect Caravan: Pack & Graze' and it should pop up

I have tried to make a alternative workshop image for this mod, you may use it if you like

Look, I just wanna know how the bread tastes. Did it give you food poisoning? If it did, I need to patch that — so hit me up if your stomach’s wrecked.

Haha, a few different takes here. But at the end of the day I’m writing code, not drawing art
— it’s like going to a bakery and reviewing the paper bags instead of the bread.

@filipfrantz its also really not that hard to just not be a twat. who cares if it looks lazy, they already spent enough of their time building us a good mod for absolutely free.
