TALP

History
TALP Medium Tank
The TALP (Tank Automatic Loading Platform) entered service in 1949 as one of the first mass-produced tanks with an autoloader. With its square, box-like turret housing an electrically driven cartridge autoloader, it promised faster rates of fire with reduced crew fatigue. Around 800 units were built, and they saw heavy use during the Continuation War of the mid-1950s. The TALP mounted the 92mm XM41A2 cannon, the same weapon as the M147 Crossroad, and was notable for fielding early kinetic ammunition, which proved highly effective against enemy armour. Against infantry, however, the lack of effective high-explosive rounds was a recurring limitation.

In the field, the TALP was praised for its mobility and effectiveness in direct-fire support, especially in urban fighting where its rapid firepower could be decisive. But its weaknesses became quickly apparent. The tank’s armour was thin, making it vulnerable to mines, handheld anti-tank weapons, and even late-model anti-tank rifles. Its autoloader, while revolutionary, was plagued by constant breakdowns. Commanders and gunners often had to stop firing to reload belts or clear jams, drastically reducing combat effectiveness under pressure. Additional armament included two hull-mounted .30 calibre machine guns controlled by the driver and a coaxial .30 calibre for general support.

By 1956, the TALP was phased out in favour of more reliable designs. It had stayed in service beyond original expectation, despite its mechanical complexity and plenty of drawbacks and downsides.

  6. to restart after stallling you need to disable the engine master again and go from there!

Further Notes
- Fully Manual Transmission! Hold Clutch while shifting gears!
- Gunner and Commander use touchscreen to aim!
- Autoloader Startup: Autoloader Breaker -> Autoloader Main System -> Enable Motor
- The Autoloader has intended failures: Breech can get stuck closed, feeder can stop working (chances are low but it can happen)
to fix:
Breech: MAIN DISABLE -> Manually Open Breech (then close it again after the feeder put a round into it)
Feeder: MAIN DISABLE -> Manually Open Breech -> (Commander side) Manual Overwrite -> Open Clutch -> use Handcrank to feed rounds
That last method is also used for manually rearming the belts

About the Project
The Pacific Front is a Alternate History Project about the time from 1940s through to the 70s in a time of turmoil, war and desperation. It focuses on the countries around the pacific ocean, like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia, China and a lot more. All the the project vehicles are fictional in nature and have their own story, lore and design. The Projects creations have a tendency for high fidelity, decoration and multi crew operation.

Nah Ejection failure works just fine. It turns off if you fire again, as that resets the entire system to normal.
Also the backlights are linked to the engine running, that was my fault, fixed that

and EJECTION FAILURE is also on and wont turn off when clearing the breach and its ready to fire.
