A 5 Kerbal Lander with a Heavy Duty Rover designed for one way missions to DUNA with 20% fuel reserve as a margin of error. It has better range than the SPIDER & The FLY version and requires no ION flight time. When launched with Kerbin at around 45 degrees in trail of DUNA, you can't miss.
Features a Hands Free Auto Orbit Launch Sequence. To use it go SAS and RCS to ON and full throttle then use Action Group #1. The SLUGO Lifter will detach at an ALT where it will reenter to avoid clutter around Kerbin and then the delivery vehicle will punch out into an interplanetary orbit.

The SPIDER LANDER can go from 900mps to 20mps on DUNA in just 2500m, so it's best to wait till about 7000m ALT to start your work down and then to stall it out completely and turn it. Then ride it down zero throttle till about 2000m and then throttle it down to about 50mps. So, when setting up for Landing ideally placing a maneuver that goes 7000m above your target LZ will put you right on it. On DUNA it is best to use the Engines to keep your reentry speed around 900mps max if you are coming in hot. The Guidance Pod is being used at launch and during flight so you'll want to reverse it for landing. The SPIDER can make orbit on DUNA if you leave the Rover behind. Requires 85% Fuel load MIN.
The Rover is a 4 Kerbal heavy duty one and carries lots of storage itself for setting up Science Bases.
*ALWAYS leave a couple empty storage slots to place whatever the Kerbal's are carrying in ALWAYS.
*Make certian that "PARKING BRAKE GROUP" is ON before you drop it, or be in it ...

or you'll never catch it.
Then if nothing seems to work, turn it OFF because it stops everything, motors, rotors, arms, whatever.


The SPIDER Lander has limited Mining and Refining capability so making Orbit again or relocating should be possible in time regardless of fuel state upon touchdown.
There are action groups for the Lander to manipulate the Gear.

Please check your load-outs prior to launch, I do load these but sometime when downloaded they show up empty.

The DUNABIRD
was commissioned as an recovery Vessel for SPIDER Crews in Orbit someplace needing a ride home.

I made a video of a flight to DUNA of interest might be how I use the TARGET MODE function of the map to really dial in the maneuver to DUNA. TAB Key to enter Taget Mode, ~ (Twiddle) Key to exit Target Mode.
