Description
This mod filters loot drops to prevent the game from overly spoiling you


I initially made this as a quick servermod with hardcoded filters as I'm not a fan of the new loot system dropping every high end ingredient and equipment, which I find spoils the game and makes crafting completely redundant.
However I have now added full configuration for the filters I previously set up so you can adjust your drops accordingly. It has my initial values as defaults, though I'll probably expand my own setup as I play.
I guess we can call it.. "less of a servermod" now? lol

Features:
  • The mod filters loot drops from chests and NPCs as well as harvested loot
  • Several ways of handling loot, you can swap, limit the drop chance further, adjust the quantity or outright remove the item from loot.
  • Customizable, use the dc lootconfig console command to show the admin UI
  • Should work with on modded items too etc.
  • Prevents NPCs from dropping their equipped item (currently that is not configurable)
  • On the default configuration it: removes all paddings, epic weapon components, lowers the chance of high tier equipment drops, limits legendary chests, but feel free to tweak those settings

Note: This mod only filters loot as it's being generated in loot boxes and harvest. It's not an admin item ban mod, players can still use or have these items if they obtain them otherwise, just aims to tone down the crazy vanilla drops that we have since AoW. There is also no guarantee that it will get everything in case of modded chests or other sources of loot etc.

Compatible with most mods.
Since it started as a servermod, it does directly intercept the lootspawner, though that should be fine for 99% of cases as mods don't usually touch that and Funcom never updates it normally.

Update Policy
  • My mods are built to remain compatible and almost never need updates when the game itself is updated. ?Outdated? warnings from hosts (like gportal) can be ignored - they only compare version numbers between the game and the devkit, which don?t matter unless basegame files are altered.

  • Updates happen at my discretion. If I need to update a mod, I will. Please avoid telling me when I should or should not update my mods. If that is a problem, you are free not to use the mod.

  • Mod mismatch errors are not caused by the mods themselves. It?s simply the game telling you that the mod version you have is not the same as the one on the server. For more info, or to get the previous version of the mod, visit the Discord.

I'm aware. That's because initially the mod did not affect harvested loot at all, that was added in the last update and I didn't change the default list.

On my server I removed the ore from the list and added a small multiplier for it instead to reduce the amount gained - meteors always give way too much anyway and this way the amount in boxes is negligible

With default settings, Star Metal ore is in the Filtered Items list. This causes star meteorites to become unminable, as they no longer yield ore. Although I guess the list works as intended, you might want to take Star Metal ore off the default. It confused me at first why I'd keep hitting meteorites with a hardened steel pick and not getting anything.

I meant how to open configure loot as shown in the attached picture. I don't see it in the admin UI .
