The 2024 NATO summit took place on the 9th of July, during which the conference attendees agreed to conduct a 'special military operation' to return Ukraine to its' sovereign borders. Turkey and Hungary opted out of direct confrontation with Russia, but are allowing overflight of NATO units on their territory. 'Operation Winter Vandal' begins on 17 August 2024 at 2200Z.
This scenario covers the first 12 hours of the northern theater of the conflict.
Important things to know while playing this scenario
- Make use of the 'READY AIRCRAFT' special action.- Russians have 'Logistics Hub' and 'Command Post' units that will trigger events described below. Destroying the units will disable their effect. - 'Logistics Hub' events are triggered every hour and resupply land facilities in their area ('Logistics Hub - K1' will resupply SSM/SAM units near Kaliningrad until it is destroyed).- 'Command Post' events will trigger the deployment of reserve units in their area unless destroyed. These events happen once per scenario.- NATO loses points when major cities are attacked. Points lost is determined by proximity to the Russian border and size of the city. (Warsaw being attacked will lose more points than Vilnius being attacked because Warsaw has a larger population. Oslo will lose more points than Vilnius because Oslo is further from the Russian border).
