Arpeggio - Nagara class Light Cruiser "Nagara"

Welcome to the Nagara class Light Cruiser "Nagara", one of 6 Nagara class Light Cruisers built by the IJN in 1920 to 1924 with all 6 being lost in combat. In the Arpeggio of Blue Steel anime, the Nagara class is shown to be a plentiful ship in the ranks of the Fleet of Fog surrounding Japan to enforce the Naval Blockade. In the manga however, the ship is rarely featured beyond the Nagara itself which is the first ship shown to be sunk by the I401 crew who was hired to defend a orbital rocket launch from the Fog who tried to stop it. Much like in the manga, the Nagara itself meets the similar end in the anime, dying trying to attack the orbital rocket launch and the I401.

Similar to almost all Fleet of Fog vessels, the Nagara class is equipped with impervious Wave Force Armor and Klein Shields, which helped against the combined navy in the Great Naval Battle where these ships are shown to be participating in, at least in the anime as the manga doesn't directly show them from what visuals we get of said battle. In the end for the Nagara itself, its Wave Force Armor and Klein Shields are insufficient to protect the vessel from the I401's Corrosive Torpedoes. Resulting in the ship being destroyed and its Union Core presumed destroyed as I402 could not find it later on when searching for it by the order of Yamato.

Like in real life, the Nagara is armed with 6 single barreled turrets, or in this case, 6 single barrel assault cannons. Due to its small size, the vessel can not take too much punishment before starting to sink or even capsize. The Nagara's top speed in water is 33mps and is mostly survival ready minus a few changes. The ship entirely runs off of batteries with a singular reactor for backup power.
