Custom Zoom Parameter

Description
Makes camera zoom levels sandbox configurable via Custom Zoom Parameter.
This mod ignores the vanilla zoom options and uses the values you set in Sandbox / Mod Options.

You decide the zoom levels in Mod Options.
Examples of what you can do:
* Raise the maximum zoom beyond vanilla
* Use fine steps like 0.25 for smooth zooming
* Keep only a few clean steps like 2.0 1.0 0.5
* Create an ultra wide range such as 10.0 down to 0.25

How to install
1. Subscribe to the mod
2. Open the mod location
SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3562684029\mods\CustomZoomParameter

You can test it on vanilla Zoom. If it affects vanilla, it will affect here. The only change in the code is the vanilla zoom property.

Does this mod come with the issues of other mods like this have? where it increases Zombies vision range on the player as well?

@chuckleberrypi yw :D. I updated the mod so it now uses sandbox configurations, warns you if it isn’t installed correctly, and applies the new zoom parameter when zooming with the scroll.

Yes, ticking the vanilla UI zoom options and apply them forces the zoom parameters to reload again.

I agree with you, this mod leaves the responsibility of proper configuration entirely to the player, so if you mess up the values it will break the zoom functionality.

12.0;9.0;6.0;5.0;4.0;3.0;2.5;2.25;2.0;1.75;1.5;1.25;1.0;0.75;0.5;0.25;0.15;0.10;0.05;0.025;0.020;0.015;0.01;0.005;0.004;0.003;0.002;0.001

It gives a very wide zoom out (1200%) and a very narrow zoom in (0.1%)

i did something funky with the numbers and my zoom got disabled in-game lol (scroll wheel still worked in the menu). I quit the file to the menu screen, and the game stopped responding. I just unsubscribed and everything's back to normal, but i definitely want to try this again when i'm more awake. having those zoom steps be super smooth was nice. copying the file was easy, but I feel like dialing in the settings might be pretty fiddly (just a friendly warning to any other mod newbies who wanna try this)

is clicking any zoom option on the vanilla settings just to like, trick the game into recognizing your zoom levels & zoom steps?

@Adam

Glad it helped! If you like to fine tune you may like my custom moodle threshold mod https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3560934901 where you can set when a moodle triggers and I will soon release some generator tweaks mods too stay tuned!
