Ricon

Description
Ricon was a Superheavyweight robot from Ukiah, California which competed at Battlebots 1999 Las Vegas event. It was built by John McKenzie of Ankle Biter fame and was a 2-wheeled boxy bot with a pair of retracting horizontal sawblades (sorry these don't retract, I tried doing the linear motion pivot offset trick on this bot and its just not working).

Ricon had 2 matches with its first opponent being the first incarnation of Abbatoir, with Ricon only being slightly more mobile than Ray Scully's infamously unreliable horizontal, breaking one half of its own drive while attempting to attack Abbatoir... Which promptly broke down giving Ricon the KO.

Their next match was supposed to be against one of Mark Setrakian's engineering masterpieces of the era in Mechadon. However Mechadon was a ridiculously complex bot and had to forfeit due to prior damage putting them in the final against Minion where Ricon's drive once again failed on one side before being pushed around for a good part of the match causing it to lose the resulting JD.

After this, Ricon was rebranded to Odin before being retired altogether in favor of a newer bot in Odin II.
