Command Core

Description
Command Core (Playtest)

Command Core is a work-in-progress tabletop miniatures game where you take command of customizable mechs, programming their movements and unleashing cinematic battles inspired by MechWarrior and Armored Core.

This is an early playtest build—rules, cards, and balance are still evolving, and community feedback is a vital part of shaping the final game. Expect adjustments, new content, and frequent iteration as the system develops.

🎮 What Is Command Core?

At its heart, Command Core is about the tactical chaos of pre-programmed mech combat:

Directive Programming – Plot your mech’s moves secretly with directive cards.

Execution & Momentum – Watch your plans collide (sometimes literally!) as mechs stride, pivot, and clash on the battlefield.

Surge & Flux – Manage a unique resource cycle: build Surge with efficient maneuvers, fuel your offense, then convert it into Flux to bolster defense before resetting each round.

Cinematic Combat – Attacks are explosive and punishing, with critical hits disabling weapons, upgrades, or systems mid-battle.

Every round feels like a cutscene—giant machines juking, blasting, and crashing in a desperate bid to outmaneuver their enemies.

🛠️ Playtest Status

The ruleset is functional but experimental.

Expect some rough edges, placeholder assets, and rules still under stress-testing.

Feedback is welcome! If something feels off or confusing, let us know—it’ll help tighten the design.

This Workshop build exists to test core systems, not to represent a polished final product.

🚀 Goals

The vision of Command Core is to capture the high-drama mech duels of videogames like MechWarrior and Armored Core, but in a physical, tabletop format. Every turn should feel like watching a cinematic: boosters flaring, weapons hammering, armor plates shattering.

📢 How You Can Help

Play a few rounds.

Tell us where it clicks—and where it doesn’t.

Suggest improvements, house rules, or cool ideas.

This is a collaborative playtest, and your feedback will directly shape the game’s evolution.

⚠️ Note: This mod is not final content—it’s an ongoing prototype. Rules, cards, and mechanics may change dramatically as development continues.

We're currently working on rewriting the rules in a way that's more followable and has templating, keywording, a glossary, etc as well.

That's pretty much it right now, but I'll make sure next version the rules are included Winged! Sorry didn't prep this that much for people outside of the playtest.

Are the rules accessible in the TTS mod? Not sure where to find them outside visiting your discord.
