This Fictional ship is based on the João Coutinho class and the Baptista de Andrade class corvettes of the portuguese navy. This ship is a further enhancement of the previous classes with more modern sensors and weapon systems to increase the Anti Air and Anti Missile capabilities.

Domingos de Lima was an important figure during the period of the Restoration of Portugal's Independence, which occurred on December 1, 1640, when the Portuguese freed themselves from Spanish rule (Iberian Union, 1580-1640) and restored national sovereignty with the acclamation of D. João IV as king.
