Our Solar System is home to eight planets (four terrestrial inner planets and four giant outer planets), the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and the trans-Neptunian objects beyond Neptune. Notable dwarf planets and other large objects include Ceres (in the asteroid belt), Pluto (beyond the orbit of Neptune), and Sedna (on a distant and eccentric orbit).
