For me personally, this isn't a problem. I don't require any changes, etc. I solved it myself by converting it to a PO.
I'm more concerned with inexperienced users. I also placed the bridge flush with two streets at both ends. Nevertheless, a missing street connection is displayed. Even with an invisible pedestrian path.
When I place the bridge over a stream/river, I get a message saying there's no road connection. This is probably because you have the connection on the bridge side – which is inevitably over the stream/river. In my opinion, this problem wouldn't arise if the road connection were on one of the two end sides.
I hope I'm allowed to address this!? Or have I misunderstood something?
