More Weapon Manufacturers

In 1 collection by Quilboar
Vanilla-Style Overhaul
61 items
Description
Adds more weapon manufacturers to the game, primarily ones that were cut from the original game, but also a few new ones. They mostly fill in the spaces where Ancient would probably not be used by contemporary factions, as well as a few other tweaks and throwbacks for general variety.

Includes physical shops as well as weapon grades/models.

TRUTH TWO (mentioned in vanilla lore and readded from old game)

Producing some of the finest blades in the modern era, these smiths are rivals to the Catun Scrapmasters.

OLD-EYE BLADES (readd from old game)

One of the oldest smithing companies, weapons mass produced by slave labour and commonly found everywhere. Their shop can be found in Clownsteady.

METAL PURITY (readd from old game)

A smithing guild from the Holy Nation that makes knock-off General Metal weapons and passes them off as their own. They also make cleavers, hackers and such for the holy army. Their shop can be found in Blister Hill, selling armour as well.

GENERAL METAL (readd/change from old game)

A metalworking company from the Empire that mostly makes tools and recycles scrap, but they also produce arms and armour. Both tradesmen and increasing numbers of slaves work to keep their blast furnaces running.

HENG FORGE (mentioned in lore)

A weapon created in Heng, one of the arms producing cities of the Empire, though not as renowned as Catun.

CHOICE SALVAGE (new)

Sword salvagers and resellers rather than true smiths, for the most part. Some of their best finds are mostly still intact, though. Their shop can be found in Black Scratch.

BLISTER HILL BLOOMERY (new)

A weapon forged in Blister Hill by relatively skilled holy servants using old-fashioned smelters. Their shop can be found in Blister Hill.

RADIANT FORGE (rare new, unused old models)

An arms manufacturer known for using glaringly bright metal in its weapons.

HOLY NATION SMITHS (implied in lore, weapon shops)

Weapons forged or refitted by the Holy Nation. They vary in quality; some are basically ancient. There are a few bladesmithing guilds in the holy cities, but most weapons are just produced by local blacksmiths.

SHEK KINGDOM SMITHS (implied in lore, weapon shops)

The Shek are known for producing many heavy weapons for their warriors, though their designs can be crude.

SWAMPER SMITHS (implied in lore, swamp smithy)

Weapons forged or refitted by the inhabitants of the swamps.

THIRD EMPIRE (implied in lore, weapon shops)

Weapons mass produced for the samurai warriors of the United Cities.

WESTERN HIVE (new)

This weapon was forged, salvaged or refitted by the Western Hive for use by its Soldier Drones.

CRABSMITHS (implied in lore, crab smithy)

Weapons produced in Crab Town by the Crab Raiders, known for their skill in metalworking.

Mod also adds alternative ANCIENT and UNKNOWN for manufacturers/models for characters that only carry blunt weapons, so you will find "Rusting Stick" instead of "Rusting Blade" models for unknown staffs and clubs. Characters that carry clubs and blades will still have normal manufacturers that may include blade models though.

ANCIENT (alt)

Some mid-grade metal that was fashioned into a blunt weapon.

UNKNOWN (alt)

A blunt weapon made of poor quality, corroded metal. Probably salvaged from a scrap heap.

Catun Scrapmasters have an altered description to no longer imply they are the only smithing group in the world.

you can also buy ARMOUR at Metal Purity, General Metal, and Choice Salvage! General Metal also sells iron plates, copper alloy, wrenches, hinges, grind machines and other random items. Choice Salvage has a wide variety of misc. junk.

Big update, added some more manufacturers (Swamp Smiths, Choice Salvage, Heng Forge). There are now physical locations for some of the other manufacturers. Heng Forge replaces the weapon shop in Heng, Metal Purity (which also sells armour) replaces the armour shop in Blister Hill, and BHB replaces its weapon shop. Stack and Bad Teeth still have generic holy armor/weapon traders. Choice Salvage is in Black Scratch, Old-Eye Blades are in Clownsteady, and General Metal is in Drifter's Last.

It always bothered me that the Holy Nation were restricted to ancient junk, or to use weapons forged by their enemies in the UC, or Okran forbid, skeletons. Especially with the fact they can manufacture decent plate armor.
